CoD:WaW patch—and a cautionary tale!

There's a new patch for Call of Duty: World at War available now. It mostly addresses multiplayer issues but also has a new map, sort of. It's a daytime version of Makin.

But be careful with this patch. I downloaded it and played around with it a bit, then went back to my single-player campaign and was greeted with this error:

I had to restart the mission from the beginning and couldn't resume from my saved game where I stopped about halfway in. After I restarted and saved a new game things went swimmingly.
