I noticed the Halo 2 topic but is there a universal/other topics floating around about running these games on Windows 7? Search function seemed useless in this endeavor.

Also, the first thing I did was install Gears PC (with the actual disk) and then the TU3 patch. Then later on I realised I didn't want my brother to break/scratch my disc because he's always swapping in and out RTS games, so I decided to run a "no cd" patch and mounted a ISO on Daemon tools and then the game didn't work. Uninstalled the game and popped back in the disc and reinstalled and then did the TU3 patch again and the game still doesn't work. If I could just get the game to work with the disc in the drive then that would be good enough for me.

All and any help is appreciated.

Just telling us the game doesn't work is not going to give any insight to what is going on. Post some event logs of what is going if there is any.

Where would I get said event logs?

I know next to nothing about Windows 7 but one person suggested that I delete the hidden AppData folder.

The two things that popped up when I tried to run the game.

Edit: Fallout 3 now works oddley enough. Didn't change anything and it would always crash on the first "loading" screen. Updated and lets me sign-in/play just fine.
