Wow a whole week and no reply lol, what do you all think about what I said?.Was hoping there was some food for thought on my last post.It seems a bit dumb to me that everyone whinged to get a fee for the service cancelled and now people are whinging about a lack of support, I'm not surprised gfwl is not doing anything about this cheating fiasco, damn shame because gta iv really had potential to be a top pc MP and still could be if this ever gets sorted out and the fantastic DLC's ever make it to pc.I have been itching to reinstall this game since june-09 and still am :(.
Why don't you just make private servers? This prevents anyone from joining unless you invite them.
In the last 9 months of GTA, I now have 100 friends, so I always have 10-20 people online.

If you have been playing MP games over the internet for a while, you would know that RS could never build a top PC MP game. There online coding is terrible. They can't even get the server to client synchronized.

I'll reinstall tomorrow and see if I can get some good gaming on the go, I imagine it could get a bit tiresome thou playing the same people regular, what I like about playing strangers (different styles, tactics = more spontaneous), but I suppose it would make it more competitive when you get used to there playing style, and its gotta be better than playing with dirty cheaters and server crashers regular ;).
I've played on a few servers with Modders tho.... To me their are two types of hackers. The A**holes and the Funmakers. If your lucky, you'll run into the Funmaker hackers. They do such things as make tracks, ramps, help you out with vehicles and whatnot. Not many do that, and its for all games. But its the A**holes that use autoaim and whatnot that ruin it for everyone, and give both types of hackers bad rep.

We are doing mistake, thats what they want! They cheat and crash servers because they want atention and want to be ''famous'' ..problematic children.

Anyway, yesterday i meet *** with name Azad XXL, money cheat in Turf war game and then spawn tuga to crash server...
GTA iv brought out a patch...
It took approximately 1 week for the hacks to appear on servers again.
Cheating needs to be stopped/modding needs to be stopped.
Every server I create, within... 30 minutes.. Is crashed by someone spawning massive boats over and over.
Kick bans someone from the server until he is reinvited. When the hell did kick mean ban?
Why is the interface so freaking stupid.
This has GOT TO BE SORTED. It's a complete waste of time playing multiplayer until cheats and mods are dealt with.. FOR GOOD!

Agreed, the host kick feature works, if the host knows someone is hacking and the host is not AFK.
We have no ban list support, so the same cheaters keep coming into different games, and constantly need to be re-kicked.
It was a good try R* but again, you missed the mark. I am going back to creating private servers and not playing with the general public.
One more thing I wanted to mention, that is possibly worse than all the cheating going on. Its the distrust this has created amongst gamers. A bunch of us play every day for months, and we all get accusses of cheating, because we are good players. This sucks, because now everyone thinks everyone is cheating and it makes the game no fun, unless you really suck at the game, in which case, no one thinks your cheating....

Welcome to PC gaming where you will NEVER get rid of cheating. It is a cycle that has been going around since CS beta days. If someone can never beat you, they will think you cheat. You need to take the game less seriously & enjoy yourself.
I disagree. I played Half-life, CS, Battlefield, COD, and while folks do accuse each other of cheating, I never once saw people playing with outright god mode and spawning objects and crashins servers. So I call BS on that man. Perhaps some do cheat in other games, I just never witnessed it on such a widespread scale because those other games had anti-cheat s/w.
Yea... VAC owns. it just permanently bans a cheaters account forever. No undozees. I like that, IT says to me.. GET THE F OFF the game YOU CHEATING son of a SHINEEEE YOUR WINDOWS.
Yesterday, I tried kicking someone, it didn't have the option. He said something like he has net kick.
And once again... THE F****** Massive boat spawned over and over again... It's impossible to kick someone quick enough.. And even more impossible to know who's spawning in the first place!. IT's A DAMN JOKE!
Steams VAC works. let's have something just as strict.. So cheaters use a cheating server and not be punished.. And gamers.. YEAHH THAT's RIGHT.. GAMERS, real homebred gamers.. can actually PLAY THE GAME.
