my friend experienced this issue while trying to connect to ingame live client. it seems a connection timeout since it takes some second before return error. he found some warning in the event viewer about xlive.dll, here the minidump:

Title dow2.exe (1, 1, 0, 0) XLive 2.0.0673.0 (PANORAMA_V2.00_RTM.081028-1714) C:\Windows\system32\xlive.dll
0x8015190e

XLive Logon Failed

00:3F:58:FE:F1:7F
192.168.1.10
0x0
LogonHR == 0x8015190e
Games for Windows - LIVE DLL

As far as i know 2.0.673.0 is the latest version of xlive.dll, so it shouldn't be a versioning issue. I found nothing about 0x8015190e error code, I suspect a connection timeout, but can't be sure about that. He runs Vista on a tabletop and connect trought wireless to a netgear wgr614v9 router, he had no connectivity issues sice now, he can quietly connect trought ie7 and other games..

he added a local firewall exception for dow2.exe and forwarded live needed ports on router, then he tryed to disable local and router firewalls too, live still not connecting.

searching for a solution, he found two articles on support.microsoft.com: there could be the possibility that live erroneously uses the wrong network interface to connect, they suggest or to disable all network interfaces except for the one in use or to edit registry adding a ConnectionOverride key in HKeyCurrentUser\Software\Classes\Software\Microsoft\XLive that can instructs live to use a specific interface. tryed this too but nothing..

we are short of ideas, any suggestion about 0x8015190e would be appreciated.

thanks in advance

[edit]

In my case I'm behind a router with nat/firewall capabilities enabled and I still able to connect to ingame live client without forwarding any port and with upnp disabled.

[solved]

He managed to solve the problem by following the "netsh" procedure to restore default tcp/ip parameters described in this stiky. Port forwarding not needed.

I know, way kinda late but better late then never!

One of 2 things I can think of.

First, make sure you don't have ICS enabled on your PC

2nd, check under Internet Explorer, "File" and see if it shows you working online or offline

hotchilli1327 says to check ICS is off, but I need it to be on as it's how my 360 connects to live.  Why does it need to be off?  GfWL is really annoying me and it's highly unlikely I'll be buying anymore GfWL games but I want to get the ones I have to work AND be able to connect my 360 to live without buying the overpriced wifi adapter.

Is your console directly connected to your PC?   This would be the only time that you need ICS for Xbox 360.  And is it XP you are using?  If not, and you are using Vista or windows 7 then it should be ok.  If you are doing XP, then disable ICS for GFWL and reenable it for your console.  Having your xbox connect directly through your PC is not the best way to go.  Routers are relatively inexpensive and is crucial to the setup you have.

So if you don't have a router, yes you COULD run into issues.  A router can be had for 30 to 40 bucks.

Let us know.

Yes my console is connected directly to my pc, which in turn connects via a wireless N card to a wireless N router, I'm running Windows 7.  Setting up my 360 to the router is not an option as it is in another room.

I still can't download my profile.
