Combinate: GFWModerator: If you're in a supported country and getting this message, please turn off xfire before signing in, a conflict with that software causes this issue for some people. NOW THIS REALY SHOT OUT THE LIGHT IN MY BRAIN. I had anough of this, I'm going to issue a EU malcompleance against M$ for selling products what have been written onto them that "WHERE" is it sold the service is available. AND IT DOESN'T CONTAIN ANY OTHER INFORMATION ABOUT THAT MY COUNTY IS NOT SUPPORTED POSSIBLY. "WARNING" If my report is found true, and doesn't contain any information about the contains, than the EU will issue a "BAN" on "LIVE" softwares, and a 1 BILLION EUR until Microsoft doesn't fix the countrie issue. I hope Microsoft will learn about this false step. And it's realy fun to use my EU Citizen ship, to report such things! xD kthxbai

1. You accepted the agreement when you installed the game. (Says you MUST accept the agreement in bold on the back of the box, which should probably lead you to read the agreement instead of just blindly clicking "Accept," but that's probably what you did isn't it?)
2. It's on the back of the box so you woldn't've even had to read the long@$$ agreement.
3. You can't issue a malcompliance if something isn't misleading. It's on the back of the freaking box. Isn't that what we all like to look over for five minutes before we open the game anyway?
4. My advice: Don't make yourself look foolish, drop it, 'cause you're not going anywhere with that.
And to those of you who think LIVE not being supported in your country is discrimination. No it's not. It's about money and convenience, nothing personal. LIVE on computers is a free service, Microsoft is basically paying so that we can play multiplayer on these games. It's a wonder we even have LIVE for free in SOME countries.
Who is "General Failure" and why is he reading my hard drive?
1.You shouldn't have mentioned that at all because it's bullshit since we've already have bought the game by the time we move on installing it.
2.The back of the box says in really small print "Live is not available in all countries, please go to -some url- You must accept the enclosed license agreement."
Why do i have to check some fkin page huh? Those products are reaching my country so no goddamnit, no checking - there has to be a label with a huge X. Microsoft is a dishonest company that's what it is. They want to make a fool out of us and get our money with their tiny print, with the url checking. I am customer searching for games at the store, how the hell am i supposed to check www.xbx.com??? How will i accept some fkin agreement if i can see it only after i buy the game?
NO LIVE? NO MONEY FOR GAMESFORWINDOWS. WE WONT BUY THEM.
3.What's on the back of the freaking box mister? Are you refering to that tiny print which makes no sense for the average customer? You are one of the imbeciles too haha. "Microsoft victim" write that on your forehead :)
4.People have discussed about this a million times. Where were you when that happened??? Don't you know about "Steam" and other services? It costs them nothing and we are all able to use it no matter where we live at. Microsoft doesn't pay for it, they are only trying to make money out of it but they don't have expenses. The wonder is how can one be so stupid to think like you, that is!
So if you feel so pleased when+if LIVE comes at your country go suck their ***** and thank them.
LouisFF:Microsoft doesn't pay for it, they are only trying to make money out of it but they don't have expenses.
This is not a factual statement.
Is it is a factual statement. It is a F-A-C-T.
Their expenses are dimes. LIVE costs Microsoft almost nothing. Prove me wrong :)
How is "Steam" free for all countries of the planet? No gold accounts and bs there...If it costed anything they wouldn't provide it, don't you think?
What's the excuse of Micro$oft for cutting thousands of gamers from hundreds of countries off the online gaming world?
While I appreciate you spelling it for me, it doesn't change what is true, and your statement was not. You can yell and rail as loud as you like, there are no free lunches. Steam is not "free" it is paid for by those distributing through it, those hosting the servers, the purchase price of content. They have a different business model, but it is not one based on unicorns and magical puppies licking away hosting and bandwidth bills.

ahh yes thats right it costs them nothing /sarcasim off
What about:
As for steam why do you think stuff is so expensive on steam? Duh because Valve take their cut.

You may call it different business model, us customers call it satisfaction. The end-user is happy, we pay and we get what we paid for.
In Valve they didn't cut off hundreds of countries from using their services, did they?
Lets talk sense ok. Please answer this question regarding the majority of customers:
Do you think they are aware of LIVE limitations? Do you think that the back of the games' box makes them understand that after they give away their money and go play their brand new game...that they will not be able to play online?
I can speak for gamers here. Almost noone is aware of LIVE limitations. They keep buying GFW and only few of them realise why their game doesn't let them to play online. I got fooled twice before i found out that my country is not supported.
I know that's the correct marketing from Micro$oft's side. It also is the perfect way to fool customers.
Any time someone from an unsupported country posts to the forums I provide them with the information that they need. Additionally, it is actually possible to play from countries that are not technically "supported" if you choose a country that is supported during account creation.

Not that I'm calling you a liar, but can you provide any shred of proof to these ramblings of yours? Or are you just one unhappy camper, who is trying to hijack a once useful thread?
I'm living in an unsupported country, but I have a Live gamertag, am able to purchase and download from the marketplace, and am able to participate in multiplayer. I'm not sure if it's strictly against their ToS, but I haven't been reprimanded for it yet. I'd like Live to come to South Africa, but until we have cheaper internet, and a bigger consumer group, I know that it won't happen anytime soon, so I'm prepared to wait.
So you've got 2 options here, either borrow a family members address and create a gamertag so you can join in with the million or so current users, or go away.

If that was possible we would all be happy dude.
So if i go make a new account and choose United States of America as my country will i be able to play?
I won't ever get the "your country is not supported" message again?
Seriously, the site doesn't check our IP before it desides whether we should be served or not?
It's all about what country we chose during account creation?
Yes you should be able to play if you set a supported country as your country when you mke the account. Like the UK or USA
LouisFF:It's all about what country we chose during account creation?
Yes.
One very important point you should note is that you need to provide a valid postal code for the address you provide. This may be a bit tricky if you don't have any family or friends living in a supported country.
Search for game lodges, old-age homes, etc, online for an address first before attempting to create your account.
I DEMAND that my country be added to the list so that gamers who I play against know which country I am from.
otherwise, I DEMAND that Microsoft stops actively blocking my Visa card (which works on any other online payment worldwide) when I register with a so-called "supported" country and try to give Microsoft hard earned money for buying expensive DLC
In the Xbox 360 side:
I demand that Microsoft honors the extended global warranty for RRODs to all countries globally, as it is mentionned in the Xbox.com website :
"Q: Is this effective worldwide?A: Yes, these policies are global. The new policies are now being instituted in our customer service centers around the world, which may take a few days to fully implement."
This dates from 2007 and still many people in so-called "non-supported" countries (ex: Turkey, Philipines, Morocco, China, etc...) got their console dead due to RROD and no sign of any warranty even after contacting M$ support.
By the way here is an ironic story about LIVE supported countries for the game Outrun Online:

As much as you demand it, Microsoft doesn't have to move a finger for you.
That picture is not real. I've been running across the internet just for you to find out if North Korea is supported, and no, they are not.
