@InGlocksWeTrust

Hey guy do us a favor and gtfo. Seriously man, why are you here? Are you having a problem with the game? No. So please just leave. You just sit there and tell others they are wrong or call people names. There's no need for it.  What it all comes down to is the game is unplayable. Due to the update of GFWL. People come here to report that there is a problem. If they are immature about doing so or break the rules of these forums then the mods will take care of it. You coming in here telling others whats what isn't whats what.

I'm not telling you what's what either. I'm  just asking you to leave. Be a man. Move on. This has nothing to do with you.

I'll post here again to remind people that you ARE still bound by the terms of use, you're still expected to behave in an adult manner while posting on the forums.  We are working on it, a fix is on the way.  We do in fact do testing, which does in fact take time.  It wouldn't serve anyone well if we were to find the problem, "fix it" and then immediately push out that fix without ensuring that the fix doesn't cause any other problems.  The people insisting we should test but also insisting we should fix the problem the second it occurs seem to be a bit disconnected from reality.

The development team has been working on this issue since it was first discovered, most of them pulling exceedingly long shifts to identify and work towards a resolution on this issue.  I think people may be a bit misguided if they think that when a bug like this happens it's just business as usual or that we're all hanging out bowling in the hall and drinking margaritas or something.  Issues like this are a big deal, and the work to get them fixed in a timely manner involves many people working very hard.

Your hard work on this intrusive, and now corrupting, software is appreciated.

In the mean time, this is what I did, copied from GTAforum. It works fine and you are not prompted to update continually, just signed in offline.

"Hey guys,

I was having the same stuttering problem after updating Games for Windows - Live

angry.gif

. I registered on the forum to let you guys know that you can fix it, if you don't mind staying offline.

I'm using windows XP, but hopefully Vista users can do something similar.

Simply uninstall "Microsoft Games for Windows - Live" and "Microsoft Games for Windows - Live Redistributable" using the Add or Remove Programs utility.
Then download and install the older version here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...89-181edc57c0e0

Your game should now run as smooth as before

. But remember to decline the update request, this will however force you to play offline

Do you know if this will allow you to use your SP savegames?  I'm hesitant to try without some expectation of success.

So when did I call people names. No I will not get out, I could care less if people are breaking the rules. The Fact is people are only coming hear to bash GFWL because of a update that has effected GTAIV. Yes we are all having problems with the game. But I don't come here just to post about how bad one hiccup that has gone wrong last tuesday. I tell users how it is when they think they know everything that is going on behind the scenes. I have every right to be here as you do.

Thank *** god somebody posted about this!!!  I didn't pay SIXTY dollars, and wait to get the first copy off the truck, for Windows to *** up!!!  I want GTA to return to normal, GFWL messed up bad, RETRACT the update until this problem is solved!!!  I WANT TO *** PLAY GTA!!!  I payed for it, so fix it now!!!  I even tried re-installing live without the update, but apparenty the update is built into the download!!!  I agree with the original poster completely, in fact I think you aren't being aggressive enough!!!

I had 30fps on average, now I have maybe 15fps.  And the random slowdown, glitches, start menu loading slow, etc...  Its almost like my hard drive is going as fast as dial-up i-net.  (You know, old-school AOL dialup).

FIX THIS NOW!!!  Angry

Eggman, you should realize that software such as this takes a LONG time to develop.  A simple update takes MONTHS to develop.  This was an unexpected glitch and they are working as fast as they can and you should have some thanks that they are working on this.  If it wasn't for people like GFWModerator, and some other people of whom I don't know, Games for Windows - LIVE wouldn't be around.  Now appriciate what they have been doing for us and just get over it quickly.  Some of us are going through worse stuff then our LIVE games just slowing down.  I dealt with that for months too.  Just accept what is going on and just be patient for an update to come out to quicken up our games.

@Glock- Come on man relax. Forgive them for what they have said. You give really good advice, but if they don't want to listen to it then just let it be. Please don't try to escalate this into something bigger. You did not do anything wrong, but by the way this conversation is going on, the outcome is possibly not gonna be good. As a friend, I advice you to just give out advice and leave it at that. And yes, you do have every right to remain here as you do because you are a member of the GFWL community.

@Everyone that is ticked off- Please, I am not going to repeat what I said in my last posts,as it will probably agitate you all. In your own paces, just try to contemplate the situation at your own pace. Its ok to rant about it, but please, don't get the other members involved and be considerate. Most probably they are as agitated as you guys as well. Call me what ever you want or tell me to get out of this forum if this pleases you, but just remember that this problem is the problem that affects the GFWL community as a whole.

@ Darkest- Its ok, just let them let out their feelings. Don't get involved in them. There's not much I can offer here, but just remain cool until the problem passes. I know you are a very tolerant guy Darkest, so I know you can do it.

Appreciate the speedy resolve. :D

Gotta love this game. Since launch all this stuff going on with it. Everytime it's fixed it feels like a new game.  Good stuff.
