Fallout 3 insists on downloading an update for GFWL. When I say to continue, the download bar will not move at all. It sits there at the beginnning. Its doing this on two computers. I was just playing it yesterday too! I tried opening ports on my router but it didnt work (if I even opened them right). Any suggestions? Mabye a guide to open a port for GFWL on a TEW-632BRP router?
a similar problem for a friend of mine. He can't download the update, live is givinghim the message that he is not connected to the internet. Thhere's no standalone version of the update, i looked on bethsoft.com =/
I have this as well - I think it might be happening all over - I manually updated it and its still asking if I want to update when I run Fallout 3.
Most connection issues such as this are related to a few different problems1) Verify that all ports are opened (Port list available here: http://forums.gamesforwindows.com/t/102.aspx) or circumvent the router entirely by connecting directly to your modem.2) Ensure that allowances have been made in your firewall or circumvent it entirely by disabling it.3) Make sure no programs are running that could interfere. This could range from security programs like Norton Internet Security to anti-virus programs, or simply other programs such as xfire or hamachi that seem to have some issues running simultaneously.
Hi,
I just posted this. Have a look.

The download progress bar seems to have no correlation with the size of the download.
Would be a useful feature in a future update if the download progress bar showed you the size of the patch and the transfer progress in KB / sec.
