Most connection issues are related to a few different problems:

COMCAST CABLE SUCKS

Meh, I opened all of the ports, and even tried turning off my Firewall. I still can't find a game of SF4 with a good connection.

Turning of security coneection check solved the problem. Still wonder why ...

You know I have never been a fan on GFW, I've always had to spend a few hours getting it to work, and now this. "Games for Windows" is not compatible with "Windows Home Server" at least in terms of port forwards.

Why all the port forwarding anyway. hasn't NAT traversal for most major routers been done by the mother ship?

I thought the point for GFW was to make gaming easy. All it seems to do is make it way less secure and frustrating.

I wouldn't normally comment with a negative remark but I'm fed up with this service.

Yes, I feel it's just too much. I never had  a good time with it. I wonder they even made such a piece of crap.

Previously on VIsta I had to spend days to get this load of crap to work. Now when I installed Windows 7, the same problem persists....

Why dont you'll create a simple login thing. And the points n stuff can be dealt on desktop.....

Can you tell the exact version of Kaspersky. And what you turned off exactly. Thanks

I am having a problem with the UPNP service on my pc and Router...

i've restarted the upnphost service numerous times and it tells me its working along with the ssdp discovery service. My router is a NETGEAR WNR3500 with the firmware version being 1.0.30.1 (the international firmware that fixes the upnp daemon within it and it works on my XBOX 360). UPNP is enabled on my router and here is an actual photo of my UPNP page:

Sorry for the blurry picture, but i have checked the turn UPNP on box and as you see, my advertisement period is 1 minute which is more consistent with checking if UPnP is working properly and my TTL is maxed out at 255 for no restricted range.

If one of these settings are wrong for my router, please inform me. Also, when i got suspended for 2 days, when i logged back on, Upnp started to be available, not used instead and my friends gamer pictures wouldnt update as quickly along with the motto's. i do not have my router's QoS on because i thought it would conflict with the Upnp service and asks me for specific ports as well.

if its because the my router's daemon keeps crashing, then that sucks alot.  but if its because of my upnp serive being corrupted, like my software licensing was after installing sp2, then i could talk to microsoft about that.

Please respond A.S.A.P. as i will be checking frequently for responses. =)

Use this addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1419.

Now you can use IE only sites on Firefox. :)

ty very much for showing me that. i got it to test correctly, but as i would've expected, the upnp test says " not supported".

this is frustrating as it helps a great deal when playing games for windows games. if not used, it can lead to higher channels to get the proper ping which all induces latency...

This is the summary of all the ports which ALL were TRUE for enabled.

It cant successfully add the new ports though. it does say the upnp service is running as well as the discovery and ssdp service too.
