and someone please tell me why THIS is happening in my router? its definitely the upnphost service if they show active in my router..

MDA400, I think you are jumping the gun here. Before you suspect your router, I would directly plug the PC into the internet modem. If LIVE works when it is directly plugged in, then it could be the router is incompatible with UPNP protocol. Then use the port fowarding or DMZ/ software firewall combination.

Have you updated the firmware on the router? Try disabling UPNP & using port fowarding.

Im very sorry for you having to put up with me Glock XD.

However, i did manage to fix my problem by setting the TTL hops lower and lengthening the advertisement period of the upnp ad.

All is working 100% and thank you for your responses and suggestions =).

I think it is important to mention along with the ports that need forwarding to remember to enable:

NAT

MTU (1500)

UPnP

If ports are going to be opened, then you are in your router anyway and why not?  Check and make sure.

Most new routers come configured this way these days because of the way internet usage has gone, live console gaming, PC gaming etc.
