I don't understand why must MircoSoft pay to the developers for using GFWL

I agree - make GFWL mandatory!!! But one more thing ... why is it never the case that the games I actually WANT to see on the PC with achievements never have them. For example: GTA4, Fallout 3, etc style games have achievements on the PC ... why?! I'll get these games on the xbox and get my achievements there! What I want to see is games that are played best on the PC with achievements ... like: Spore, Civilization, Sims 3 - stuff like that! Games that are played best with a mouse + keyboard and therefore PC.

Because otherwise it would just be cheaper for them to use their own matchmaking servers and not have to worry about implementing achievements, etc.

Microsoft and Xbox 360 essentially forced all developers to make their games live enabled with achievements but they were paid for supporting it as well. And now look at how big it has grown.

If Microsoft had any sense, they would show the same kind of support for their Windows based PC gaming platform. Otherwise, without the games, what the hell is Windows good for?

So where is your proof MS has forced developers into making xbox games? Why wouldn't the developers just make PS3 games since MS is so forceful. Because It is false information from you. Developers have seen the value in using the Live service to make there games. How it cost a company less money if they have to develop the MP from scratch, using the companies bandwidth/power & server space to host the games. Instead of using the Live where they could cut allot more of the cost out of the development cycle. There are many games that use the tools & add their own dedicated servers to it.

You must be mistaking MS as a publisher. Publisher pushes developers to make the game as fast as possible with minimal amount of money. MS only publishes a hand full of games that are on the 360. The rest is made from 3rd party companies, some very small, through XNA.

2. CD KEY exploits to be fixed.

Thats being fixed with version 3.0. Its going to be interesting to see which users here all of sudden stop getting LIVE games, when in the past they were getting all of them. Confused

LOL I can imagine how many posts there will be regarding that issue. Cool

Because it is getting serious. It is 1 year old and if the bug is not squashed soon many people would use this method. Plus it is not new.

Actuallyy, I think it would be funny if Microsoft made it so every game released for PC after a point had to be GFW. Except that might increase Mac sales. And that wouldn't be good for our money hound, now would it? But I agree COMPLETELY.

I don't think that would happen, because I've to the Apple Store and saw all the games for MAC. The only games that got my attention were Call of Duty 4 and Need For Speed Carbon. All other games were boring or I didn't care for them.

I'm aware that it's been going on over a year, what I meant to say was that many people would flood the forums saying, "that their Games For Windows Live game says the key is invalid."

That would be hilarious. Seriously pirates has no right to complain when that happens instead if they like the game they should support the developers.

First thing Im going to do when the 3.0 update comes out is launch every single one of my games and run them for 5 minutes before launching the next one.. JUST TO PROVE I bought them all. No point in being labeled a pirate. Geeked
