Well, wonder no more, here is what my copy looks like.

$19.99 and worth owning if for nothing more than knowing you can play these two packs in their entirety without issue. If your system still gives you problems running them after this, then it is most certainly an issue on your end.
GFWL - Besthesda is awesome. Say it with me, BESTHESDA IS AWESOME!
You did not buy them off the marketplace?
I guess having a back up & buying a extra copy would give the dev a boost. Plus it would make it so incase there was a issue with the marketplace you would have your backup. Looks cool weaponeer, thanks for sharing. I may pick up a copy if the price is right.
Nope, that is why the forum very rarely saw me post in the "FALLOUT 3 DLC IS TEH SUX n" threads (- where n is a random integer between 0 and 32767). I could do some basic tech solutions for the more obvious stuff (like trying to access live with a nonlive copy, region differences, etc.), but nothing in game at all. I was not going to touch that at all. To use the classic phrase, "IT'S A TRAP!"
Retail is my joy; I love a box copy over anything else. Others are more DD minded and such, and good for them, but if it is a game you really want to have, nothing beats retail.
GFWL - Plus, I support Besthesda because they given me over 215 hours in Oblivion so far. I will get around to beating the game in about two more years I think. NO RUSH.
Just noticed that it doesnt have the LIVE logo on the front, just GFW.

Lol, what have you been doing in Oblivion?
Can't wait for Final Fantasy XIII!
So how does the boxed version work? Does it just install on your computer and you run Fallout, or is it a separate program or something?

Oh, I forgot to mention something about that. The disc also comes with the 1.4.0.6 update, so it handles your offline achievement update from the DVD to that version (58 achievements). I figure when the second one comes out, it will have at least 1.0.5.0 for Broken Steel and who knows what for Point Lookout.
The manual has real easy instructions on how to install the content, how to completely uninstall it (there is a small process to do), and how the content activates within the game. Everything you need, so technically no "Live" needed, but yeah, I noticed the missing blue/orange logo too. Oh well.
GFWL - $20 USD, the same cost as the Live DLC. Either way you want it, now you can have it.
From what I read, its basicly the same thing as if you got it off the Marketplace. You just install it, go on Fallout 3 and you will get a radio signal.

Answer: EVERYTHING I CAN.
I have cleared about 65% on the ENTIRE game. I have closed 15 or so minor gates - I am going to close them all before I hit the big one. The Guilds, The Arena, about half of Knights of the Nine DLC (which has one of the coolest dream sequences ever), and literally walking the entire map for hours on end looking for Ninroot wherever there was water.
GFWL - By the way, Gogamer.com has the PC version of Oblivion on sale for $8 USD. Shivering Isles DLC DVD for $5, GOTY Edition of Oblivion $20 until mid Wednesday.
Hey, do they address the issue of fallout not being installed on the OS partition. Meaning it asks you what drive you want to install the DLC to? Cause that was the biggest complaints about the marketplace installation.

Ok, I have my copy of Fallout 3 installed to my E:\, with C;\ being my system drive.
To answer your question, YES. When I installed the addon disc, it found my Fallout install path and placed the install into the DATA folder of the game directory on E:\.
So I booted the game up, walked around a moment, shot three raiders, then this showed up:
And then a couple of minutes later:
Please note these are the quest add screens, and there is a message before each about finding a new radio signal in the Wasteland. The only thing you must do (and the instructions state this), is run the Fallout 3 LAUNCHER once, and make sure the DLC is checked for it to show up in your game. You must also be outside Vault 101 (the first part of the game) for the DLC to appear.
I hope that helps.
GFWL - It runs smooth as silk for me, and my Fallout is installed to another drive letter.
@WEaponeer- Hello.
Do you think the boxed version can work with the Asian version of Fallout 3? Any universal patches or anything? Will the boxset be available for Asians?
Sorry for asking soo much, but I really have to know. It's already been more then 6 months since I prayed that Bethesda would release an Asian patch. I soo wanna play those DLCs!!!
Need help? Send me a messege through LIVE or make a new post in Malay or Chinese if English isn't your first language.
The DVD (I purchased in the USA mind you) has the US and UK versions of the 1.4.0.6 patch, and the DLC is labeled EN (ENGLISH). There are no other langauges on the DVD as far as I can tell. Other countries versions maybe have different languages for this DLC.
GFWL - I live in the USA, so my version appears to be a localized DLC DVD.

Thanks for the reply Weaponeer.
Darn, looks like we aren't getting our fix yet.
