the download link for the xp hotfix that you need to go through within this page http://support.microsoft.com/kb/960554 does not work, or at least not for me, i tried on three different browsers. This is the actual link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=135771

It is a page not found. MS seems to have removed it.

Does anyone know the correct place to get the hotfix? I can't save my game in GTA4 without windows live, and I need the xp hotfix in order for windows live to allow me to sign in!

This is pretty bad, guys. Come on. I know we are second fiddle to XBAWKZ but, jesus, at least PRETEND to care!

How else are we gonna pay $10 for a palette swap?

Short info to help you solve this issue faster:

After launching Games for Windows - LIVE a popup shows with info that an update needs to be installed. After answering "Yes" we are redirected here (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/960554). The problem has something to do with WinVerifyTrust. There's a link to a file that should fix the problem (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=135771).

Now the reason we are all very pissed off is that this link is BROKEN! Aside from the fact that we all had to pay a significant amount of money for this game, that we had to register and install A LOT of stuff without which we were more than OK, now we are being treated like retards by you guys.

I don't know how other guys here but this was the last "Game for Windows" I've bought. I'm done wasting time and money.

Be fair man. His last post was not even a hour ago. Even I can be patient.

They should care enough to have everything fixed or at least ready to download by now. Disabling Windows Live in case of GTA 4 means no saving and that just sucks. Especially when you think about the way other games do it - ON THE DISK! Was that too difficult? No! It's Microsoft's fault. If they are greedy enough to FORCE everyone to use their useless service than they should be professional enough to make it work properly.

I have never ever had to install so much stuff and go through all that fuss to play one game.
