I first downloaded and installed GFWL back in April. Ever since I've had it, I haven't been able to access the Home or Marketplace tab. After trying to load for a few minutes, I get a window that says "The page cannot be displayed". It's the same page one sees in Internet Explorer if you try to go online with no internet access.

I turned off WIndows Firewall and plugged my PC directly into my cable modem to eliminate firewall or port forwarding issues. I can access web pages with Internet Explorer, but I still time out whenever I want to access the home tab or the marketplace tab.

I can sign in and access GFWL from within a game with no problem, and view my friend's list, achievements, etc. I have full functionality other than what I listed earlier.

Any ideas? I have never been able to access either of these tabs since the first time I downloaded the standalone client back in April.

What if you install the marketplace manualy? Download latest update. http://www.microsoft.com/games/en-US/Support/Pages/technicalIssuesGuide.aspx

What about trying to restore defaults in internet explorer. Also do you have any other internet browsers on your PC?

Defaults were never changed as I don't use IE. I also have Firefox and Chrome installed on the PC.

Doesn't matter what you think you have changed. Firefox, chrome, netscape, etc. All use the core files for internet explorer. Which is tied into core windows files & will never change in microsoft OS's. It is possible that firefox or chrome has corrupted a core file. What I would do is head into internet options through control panel, go to the advanced tab & restore defaults.

OK, I restored the defaults via the control panel, and still the same result.
