So I was trying all the troubleshooting stuff that is posted on here and around the place and then decided to see if i could get in via another game and I can. So it appears to be something with SF4.

Getting the below error from SF4. As i said can log in fine to fallout3 and into the Live Client

When you are logging in successfully in Fallout 3 is it with an online profile, or could you possibly be signing in offline?

I would advise that you ensure that all ports are properly forwarded (http://forums.gamesforwindows.com/t/4403.aspx) and ensure that all appropriate allowances are made in your hardware or software firewall.  It could be that you've created exceptions for Fallout 3 that are not yet created for SF4.

Fallout3 isn't working now either, no biggy. But i would like to play SF4 online.

I am unsure as to what the cause is. As I said i've done the whole tcp/ip reset stack thing, disabled my 2nd network card.

Heres some screenshots of settings and error message i'm getting. Oh i'm also running Windows 7 x64 RC

My next step is going to be installing it on another computer and seeing if it can log in fine.

Title StreetFighterIV.exe (1, 0, 0, 1) XLive 2.0.0687.0 (PANORAMA_V2.00_RTM.090421-2351) C:\Windows\system32\xlive.dll

My next recommendation would be disabling or uninstalling all security/anti-virus software to ensure none of them are actually blocking traffic even if they say they are allowing it, as well as setting your MTU to 1500 (I can't verify this, but some users have indicated this has resolved connection issues for them.)

my MTU is already set to 1500

Have turned off Windows Firewall and have disabled kaspersky (even though only the anti-virus part is installed)

still hasn't worked. I am now installing it on my wifes computer to see what it does

Have you tried the almighty unplugging and replugging your router and modem from the wall socket trick? lol

lol actually no, no i haven't. That'll prob be my next step. Because if it doesn't work on my wifes computer (XP sp3) then my issue is the router rather than W7.

-_- i spend all day doing computer stuff and get home and still have to troubleshoot computer stuff. All i wanna do is play SF4 online!

UPDATE:
same error on my wifes computer so i'm now looking into what issue my router could be giving me with this.

Anyone wanna help out my router is this: http://www.belkin.com/au/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=474683

this requires its own new post

GOT IT WORKING!!!!!!

ok so all the stuff i had been reading talked about setting the MTU settings for your network card etc. So I thought hm what if i change it on my rougher for my actual internet connection (my router has a bit of txt telling me not to do this unless ISP says to do it, which they don't)

Anyways it is now working I was able to log into Live in GAME!!!!

Thanks for all the help guys. this is another thing to put down on how to fix the problem i guess
