Well, I'm here after a long search of trying to fix a Fallout 3 patching error. (http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1030716) Appearently that error is linked to Games for Windows Live, which is supposedly remedied with an update to G4WL. However, every time I try to update G4WL, I get this error:
An error has occured while installing XLiveRedist.msiFatal error during installation.
This has come from several different links to updates, which all seem to be the same file anyways. I looked at the troubleshooting, I tried saving the file to my desktop, restarting, and then running it, but that didn't work. I also opened the ports on my firewall but that didn't help either. Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

I've looked at the first thread, but I'm hesitant to start deleting random files since I'm not that tech savvy and I'd prefer not to mess something up.
I uninstalled and reinstalled Fallout 3 now, and tried to update Live through the game, but now I get this error:
An error occured during installation of assembly'Microsoft.VC90.CRT,version="9.0.21022.8",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86",type="win32'".
