"Wow!"  That's about the best way to sum up my time at PAX 2009 and the Resident Evil 5 PC launch party.  We had a lot of people come by the booth and check out Batman Arkham Asylum and Resident Evil 5 on the PC.  PAX was great and there was a lot of cool games to see and play.  At the Microsoft booth we had the two PC games I mentioned, Left for Dead 2, Forza 3, and Halo ODST to name a few.  I knew it was going to be an awesome show, but what I wasn't expecting was the awesome Resident Evil 5 PC launch party.  Since I know that a lot of you on this forum are excited about the game I thought I would give you a little bit of info and post some pictures.

I have to give a shout-out to my new buddy Mike from Capcom who got me a VIP invite.  The invite was a business card from Excella Gionne (character in the game) with a personal note on the back with the party location, time, and a note not to be late ;).  Capcom, Intel, and Asus put on quite a show last night.  They had the venue literally covered wall to wall with Resident Evil 5 stuff.  There were very nice computers all along the walls and in the middle of the floor with RE5 ready for anyone to play.  Raffling away free copies of the game and I7 processors also added to the excitement of the crowd :).  One of my favorite parts was the Tricell employee ID station.  They would take your picture and print you out your own Tricell ID badge to wear during the party.  There was also a 'Become a Majini' face paint station.  At one point all of the Majini's got up on stage and do a Zombie Walk and the dance to Michael Jackson’s Thriller while the song played.  I've already played through the game on the 360, but I can't wait to play through the PC version of this game.  It is going to be awesome!

On the PAX floor just outside the MS booth

A few of the game stations set up and the main stage

GFWL and VIP go so well together :)

Getting first hands on the game before the crowd arrives.  All of the monitors in the background are just one of the walls with stations to play the game.  You can also see the 'Kijuju' text being projected all over the walls.  (Yes I'm using a controller on the PC, some games I prefer to play that way)

The party is in full swing, but I preferred to stay up in the VIP perch :)

Gifts taken home from the party including a sand snowglobe with Chris and Sheva.
It would appear that my evil twin brother 'Wedge the Sith' works for Tricell...

Lol Wedge the Sith.  Looks like fun.  I'll hopefully get RE5 PC on day 1.  I did played it on the 360 (rented) but I couldn't get pass this one boss...forgot his name lol and I didn't had a lot of 360 players to help me out.  But I have a feeling I can find someone on this forum to help me out.

....I would love to check out the ODST area.  I heard they are giving some stuff out......I'll do almost anything to get those lol.

Can't wait for Final Fantasy XIII!

I don't get as much time as I would like to play games anymore, but if anyone is stuck on a part in the game I'll gladly run them through that section.  It will be even more fun once I do my speed runthrough and get the infinite RGP :P

That is some nice gaming there Wedge. I do look forward to playing the game on the PC. The sad part is my normal co-op parter will be leaving for firefighter school in a week; so I lose not only one of my best friends, I lose the steady aim of my co-op partner.

But I guess I can scrounge someone up for co-op, because this game really raises itself up a notch or two when played in co-op. It makes the whole game so much better.

GFWL - I hope you guys had a great weekend, and won over some new GFWL players at PAX.

He will be training in Texas; he would have started this summer, but the class/training (what do you call it)  was not taking new folks until this session.

GFWL - Hopefully, I get to hang with him one last time this weekend. We are going to be playing a lot of Rock Band: Beatles.

Wedge,

Okay, the inner geek in me is asking, what kind of rigs were they using for the RE5?  If unknown what the insides contained, were they at least custom rigs?

... and you said you prefer some games with the controller, I'm sure most of us do the same, but were you able to play with the mouse and keyboard?  And if so did anybody play that way?  Just curious...

Why does it matter if it says PC or not?
