Believe it or not, the game is really good. It is about as difficult as Dawn Of War II. It is not a deep RTS by any means, but the Japanese can be humbling to those who let it get to them.
It was a solid GFWL game, and at the time it was K00pa's and myself's benchmark on how dedicated you were to GFWL. Of course, other people had to come in and ruin it, like they always do.
As for K00pa Tr00pa, one of my biggest regrets was not being here for him. He wanted to stay in contact, but at the time I was so pissed at this place I wanted NOTHING to do with this forum or anyone in it. I purged my PC players except for three:
Exoduslow - the FIRST user in this forum to send me a friend's request.
Wedge - One of the best guys you could ever have on your side. His logic counters my anger.
Capt'n Jack - The one guy who would not let me walk away completely. He kept in contact, no matter how hard I tried to ignore him in the beginning, and eventually got me over the anger I had at this place. He is a really great guy and if anyone ever hurt him or his family, I would beat them to death for real for doing so.
K00pa Tr00pa is back in his native land now, the land of STEAM (bet you guys did not know that he came from the Steam background, while I was the console guy coming back to PC gaming...), and he is seen by a few here playing online. But understand, I may have been hurt more, but the whole situation hurt him too.
GFWL - Tomorrow on As The Forums turns...
@TheWeaponeer,
so the ONLY way to get LOTGH is only available from import?
dang, i kinda want it, but 120 is kinda steep..
Also where is the onlien store that you find it at? i cant find it via google shopping or ebay
Alex in the Sky:Haha, I *** laugh on you and to anyone who even now keeps defending the videogame industry.
Whats wrong with defending the video game industry? You wouldnt be on these forums talking gaming if it wasn't for them.. what is it about the industry you hate? Is it the fact that they use DRM? Stop stealing their stuff and they'll stop using DRM. An artist has his creation appreciated and gets compensated for his work. When you listen to a song or hang a painting on your wall, you may own it, but its stll the work of the artist. Same with video games. Just becuse it isnt free doesnt mean they are wrong. Now THAT would be ignorace.
Alex in the Sky: (But still, I think to have a good "relationship" with Pjotr, and so maybe I'm just an *** with most of the people, like uhm...ignorant people you know)
What makes a person ignorant? Better yet, what makes you so sure they ARE ignorant? Just because they defend a point you are against doesnt mean they are ignorant. they may know something you dont, or more about the subject you do, but there is no way to tell... but Im sure you could give a damn and still maintain that you are right and everyone else can go screw themselves.
I dont even know why Im wasting my time.
Thanks for the pictures Wedge! I was really hoping to see what it looked like because I have never been to a PAX before and it looked pretty busy. I will hopefully go to one once in my lifetime!
Again, thanks for the photos!
Wow...
I'm gone to the annual Microsoft Company Meeting for one day and my thread explodes from 1 page to 5! Unfortunately I would ask everyone to take a step back, take a deep breath, and remember that we're all still a community of gamers at heart. Some of you know that I was one of the last few hires on the original team that made Games for Windows - LIVE a reality (even back before we had the '-' in the name or even an official name for that matter ;) ). I've seen this project go from concept, to product, and now we are growing at a really fast rate. It's been awesome to see the initial community that was only Halo 2 PC players grow to the point where we needed our own forums and have as many users logging into GFWL as we do, all enjoying the games that use the service. As the product expands we're going to continue to attract people from all over the globe. Personally I'm honored to be a part of this community.
Going with that, I would like to remind everyone that they are a part of this community as well, regardless if we agree or don't on certain issues please be respectful when communicating those viewpoints. That way even if we do disagree and would like to provide our own feedback, we are still a community where others would want to come and join in. As we grow in numbers there are more and more people turning to these forums for help, information, tips, and troubleshooting steps. More often than not the community is there to provide assistance and steps to those users before the Moderator or a LIVE Team Member needs to assist. That helps us so that we can focus more of our time on creating new and exciting features for GFWL that everyone can enjoy. As a community of gamers I would hope that even after we've had a debate over opposing opinions, that it is done in a respectful manner so that we could still jump into a multiplayer game, play alongside each other, and still have a great time.
Thanks for listening, now there were a few questions that I was asked and I don't want to leave the posters hanging for answers :)
ICptJackSparrow: Wedge, Okay, the inner geek in me is asking, what kind of rigs were they using for the RE5? If unknown what the insides contained, were they at least custom rigs? ... and you said you prefer some games with the controller, I'm sure most of us do the same, but were you able to play with the mouse and keyboard? And if so did anybody play that way? Just curious...

I don't know the exact specs of the PC's at the party but they were pretty beefy (2 big SLi cards in each). At the Microsoft booth we had a machine that had 2 gigs of RAM, an Intel Core 2 6800 (I think), and an NVIDIA 8800 GTX. The game ran fabulously on that rig and we were told at the party that Intel helped to optimize the game so that it would run well even on a little older system. As for they keyboard and mouse, yes you can use those too. The game handles the transition really well from controller to mouse and keyboard, whichever you touch it will switch over to that set and display the correct icons automatically in the game for the quick time events or picking up items. A lot of people played with the mouse and keyboard, the really nice thing about doing that is being really precise when shooting. Instead of the laser you pretty much have a mouse cursor displayed as a target and you can just move the mouse to exactly where you want to shoot very quickly.
Also someone mentioned that they saw the RE5 logo on my gamertag. No, I don't have the game early even though I've played it at the party. The RE5 logo currently on my tag is the Xbox 360 version. I was helping my brother-in-law get through the last few missions the other night.

Wow, it didn't even cross my mind that you could have played it on your 360 XD. So did they happen to say anything about the versus mode? From the IGN review i read they said they "scrapped it".
I don't have any information on that. I didn't play the multiplayer modes (other than co-op) on the console either so when I was at the party I was pretty focused on trying out the single player game. GFWL has PDLC support so if Capcom decided to they could add it later on just like they did on the Xbox.

Ah ok, thanks for answering. I didn't know if they gave you any insider info or anything XD. Just got to hope for it to be DLC in the future, and since they did DLC with SF4, i could see them doing it with RE5.

Thanks for the reply Wedge. You answered my questions.
I have slightly cleaned this thread, stop feeding trolls, stay on topic, stop the personal attacks.
