Words from Major Nelson (XBOX LIVE)

As you know, we are committed to keeping Xbox LIVE (you can include GFWL) a safe and fair place to play for the more than 17 million active members. As part of our regular safety monitoring we have pinpointed a group of players who have unlocked specific achievements through an unauthorized hack. Deliberate cheats like these are in direct violation of the Xbox LIVE Terms of Use and will not be tolerated. As I post this, we’ve begun taking steps to reset the Gamerscores of the offending players.  As I have mentioned in the past, this is something we do occasionally to keep the service free of cheating in order to maintain a fair and level playing field for everyone. If you play fair and earn your achievements without glitching or cheating, you have nothing to worry about. Read my original post that shows what a cheater looks like and head over to Xbox.com to read the Gamerscore correction FAQ that may answer some of your questions.

After looking at the evidence who thinks she cheated cheevos???

choose

  • YES she did cheat (100%)
  • No she did not cheat (0%)

It does look like she boosted.  I think she needs some mental help because if she's that desperate for achievements than....I feel sorry for her.  Sure, I was that way myself but I moved on.

Can't wait for Final Fantasy XIII!

Im not jumping to conclusions but i didnt notice on each game the playtime was like 10 min between each game, and the rank shot up like crazy. Granted this could be a coincidence, and im not accusing anyone of anything, just pointing out stuff.

Also do you remember around the time that post went up? i forgot. I also know slush posts on here regularly so im not going to start calling them out, unless its true.

As always if you feel a user is in violation of TOU for XBOX - Live, please report them to the correct authorities.  This forum is not the place for that though.

File a complaint
You can file a complaint against another player if you feel that the other player has violated the LIVE Code of Conduct.

Typically, you file a complaint from the Guide. However, if the game has a complaint option, you can also file a complaint directly from the game in between game sessions.

Note: The complaint option may not be available in all games. If a specific game does not have the complaint option, you must file a complaint from the Guide.

To file a complaint from the Guide, follow these steps:

  1. Press the Guide or Home button.
  2. Select Players.
  3. Select the player about whom you want to file a complaint.
  4. Select File a Complaint.
  5. Select one of the following general reasons for filing the complaint:
    • Profile and Content
    • Communications
    • Tampering
  6. Select the specific reason that is based on the general reason that you selected in the previous step:
    • Profile and Content: Gamertag, Motto, Player Content
    • Communications: Text Message, Voice Mail, Voice Chat, In-Game
    • Tampering: Feedback Tampering, System Tampering, Cheating
  7. On the Confirm Complaint screen, select File Complaint. If you decide not to file a complaint, select Don't File to quit.

There is a dedicated team for LIVE that does the policy enforcement.  They gave a great talk at PAX last week, below is a link to a thread I posted about this win another link to a transcript and some audio from the talk as well.  If you have some time it is really interesting to hear the process of how these reports are handeled by the team.

LOL. I point you here for a REAL video games epicdemic:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corrupted_Blood_incident

"The Corrupted Blood incident was a widely reported virtual plague outbreak and video gameglitch found in the Blizzard Entertainment computer game World of Warcraft, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game in the Warcraft series. The plague began on September 13, 2005, when an area was introduced in a new update. One boss could cast a spell called Corrupted Blood, which would deal a certain amount of damage over a period of time, and which could be transferred from character to character. It was intended to be exclusive to this area, but players discovered ways to take it out, causing an epidemic across several servers. During the epidemic, some players would help combat the disease by volunteering healing services, while select others would maliciously spread the disease. These people have been compared to real-world disease spreaders, including early AIDS patient Gaëtan Dugas andTyphoid patient Mary Mallon. Blizzard attempted to fix the problem with voluntary quarantines, but most did not take it seriously, forcing Blizzard to do a hard reset of all of its servers for the game."

I made a thread saying I'd done it last night but it got deleted. I also sent an email to GFWLMod so he knew already.

lol.

If I had wanted to hide the truth I'd have hidden my Gamercard, I know my Gamerscore will be reset Smile

why would you do it? you can never earn achievements for those games, unless you get a new copy of the game, and a new gamertag. Also you will most likely never be taken seriously again on these forums.

Because free achievements was too tempting to try out.

And I don't think I was ever taken seriously lol.
