I recently pre-purchased the new MMO Aion, and when I try to play the game it says my directX driver is out of date. No big deal right? Just go to the microsoft site and update. Unfortunately, this is not the case. I'm running vista home premium 32 bit with directx 10, and the game apparently needs dx 9 (even though my friend sitting next to me is capable of playing the game with the same operating system as me with dx10). When I try and update directX off the microsoft site it tells me there is an error, it failed, and to check my DXError.log. Not only will my computer not let me uninstall my directx driver, it wont let me update it either. Does anyone have a solution to this? I'm just looking to be able to play Aion... This just confuses me because Aion runs off the same directx as world of warcraft, yet I can play WoW and not Aion. Any help on how I can update my directx driver?
You are going to need to get help from the customer service of NC soft. The number should be on the back of the retail box. Aion is not in any way affiliated with Games for Windows nor LIVE for that matter. This forum only deals with software/network problems when connecting to the LIVE portion of GFWL games & it is not a support site for any hardware or Windows software problems. I would head to http://www.aiononline.com/ in order to get support for your direct X issues.
