Well, I got Mothership Zeta. It works fine, when Im logged in to windows Live. I think you guys should put on there that you will have to be logged in to use it. This will be the last time I ever use Windows Live for downloadable content. I thought by buying points and purchasing the DLC: Mothership Zeta it would be like when I purchased the hard copies in the store, boy was I wrong. I feel, somehow cheated out of my money, by buying points and expecting to get the same thing as the ones bought in the store. Im so displeased, Im having trouble putting it into words, and remain tactfull. When I buy it in the store, I can use it with all of my other mods, created through the geck and so on. Im just floored that a company like this can fish people in, and sell them something that offers them half the content at more than half the price. I am so pissed. Angry. In fact, I will be writing a review of this on every site I usually frequent. Im big into writing mods and am an active member on Fallout Nexus, Ive posted over 38 items on that site, supporting products like the one you sell (and yes, just because its "points" you are selling it. You have to buy the "points") everything from minor mods, to new areas. And now Ive just spent money on a product that does nothing for me, but allow me tho play thru a small story, bravo! I could have watched the whole thing on youtube and it would have had the same effect. Its a shame, that you can market it as buying the add-on, but really, we're just checking it out. We can use it when we're logged in to your site. Thats like me selling my freind a bike, and telling him he can only use it on my property. Sad, pathetic, and misleading.

But thank you to the guys who helped me get it running. Eastmanblues & InGlocksWeTrust Tip of the hat!

To windows Live Thank you for insuring I never buy anything from you again, and tell my freinds to steer clear. Wag of the finger!

Well, thanks for trying to be as tactfull and as civilized as possible when writing this. Most people would have just criticize it without providing any backing points, but I'm glad that's not you :)

Sorry if you felt that LIVE has let you down. I agree that LIVE still has a long way to go in enhancing it's services, and that it's not for everyone at the moment. I hope that MS is reading this.

Need help? Send me a messege through LIVE or make a new post in Malay or Chinese if English isn't your first language.

Wait, you CAN play the DLC without going online - You just need to be online the very first time you run it so that it can check that you're the legit owner (and you should be online after all since you just finished a download).

Once you've gone online once the data is stored into your PC. When you run Fallout 3 and you have no internet connection LIVE will simply start with your account in OFFLINE mode. That means the game will recognize you as who you are and will keep track of your gamerscore, as well as the DLC you have purchased.

So that's it, you only need to be online the very first time. That's all.

I might be wrong though and I could have missunderstood what you were trying to say.

Please check what I just told you and let us know if it works alright or not. Smile

I have tried loading it offline, It tells my some content is missing, and the save file may not work. But the main thing Im angry about is, that with every other DLC I have purchased, The content is mine afterwards. I can use it in the G.E.C.K. to make and play other mods. I am a disabled veteran. Im missing most of my left leg, and half of my right. Going out and finding a job, is a moot point, and searching down a game, when I have to have someone drive me everywhere, is even more ridiculous. Im on fixed income. I thought buying on here would be, for one, faster, and for two cheaper. Ive since found that I could have ordered the hardcopy disc from Gamestop for $9.99. I had to pay $12.50, to get enough points to download it here, and to top it off, through windows Live, I paid to use the content, not own the content. And only use it on their terms.

I take the blame, I should have researched more, before jumping in. But the should have said anywhere on the site, that It wouldnt actually be on my computer. That I would have to be in Live to use it. I feel betrayed by this company.

Once again, that last comment was steered toward Admin of this system, the other users, (ei polite and anchel) have been nothing but helpful. Genuine good people trying to help their fellow man. Admin of these forums could take a hint at this. Maybe if the actual people getting paid to run this site, had taken an interest and i dont know, actually helped me out, I wouldn't be so disallusioned at this point.

Thank you to everyone who was helpful. Polite, Anchel, Blues, and InGlocks. You guys are awesome! Big Smile

I just saw a commercial on TV that reminded me of the way you (GFWL) sell your add-ons! Lmao! This guy gives a little girl a bike, but tells her she can only play with it in a little box on the ground. Some bank commercial about hidden stipulations. Couldnt have said it better myself.

LOL I saw that commercial Stick out tongue.  by the way,my husband is a Vet too.

Hey, pat yourself on the back for even understanding HOW to get new content downloaded!

I'm a nOOb at GFWL and just had to make an account this morning.  All I can say is, this site seriously lacks comprehensive instructions and guidance in how to even get an account and use it with these games.  I'm having to surf around forums and hope to find some information (ie. waste my time).

Angry

I just got into gaming about 6 months ago &  these newer games I got (ie Fallout3, Halo2, RE5) all have LIVE - gaming used to be so much easier without all this crap.  They really should allow you to play a game without this signup gimmick if you just want to play solo and bypass all this stuff.

This issue comes up over and over and over!

Please read everything about the content you are buying including TOS before you actually purchase it.

Most DLC needs live access to play and to finish the game etc.  Some do not.

This is the same in XBox live and has just been carried over the GFWL and is no different.

Most people have no issue with GFWL, DLC, Live connections etc, for many reasons.  And I truly mean MOST.

You will never hear from people who have no problems, but will almost always here from thos that do.  Human nature.

So please people, be sure to know what you are purchasing and how to use it BEFORE you make that purchase and I am sure you will not be pulling your hair out because the expectations you had were not met.

The "Admin" has nothing to do with your issues.  I would go to Games For Windows Live website and go to "Contact Us" and see if there is anything you can do there.

The Moderators who run this site just make sure everything here goes smoothely and offer help where they can.

And that is what moderators do, they moderate, not necessarily give technical help.  There are those that will and always help out the best they can.  And the moderators, even with the frustrations they have keeping this site up and running smoothely, they have given alot of help when they can.  You just have to do some searches through the posts and you will see how much time and effort they put into helping the users!

My hats off to both moderators and all the rest of the users who give, in my opinion, more help and go far and above what I have seen otherwise!
