GivenToFly11: halo2redvsblue: eury360x: jedimasterc06: Seriously there was only ever 1 console that was more powerful than a PC when it was released and that was the original xbox. It had a 733mhz CPU when the fastest available on PC was 700mhz. IT also had the first nforce chipset which then allowed nvidia to make nforce chipsets for the AMD platform. Certainly no nintendo, sony or sega console has ever been more powerful then a PC. None of the current generation consoles were anywhere near as fast as a PC when they were released. As for making a PC game certainly nobody has been able to make one like crytek for graphics quality and scalability. Are you kidding me? I thought we had at least 1Ghz by that time? The Xbox 360 is the only system to be more powerful then the PC at launch. The old xbox use PC parts that were already out on the market. 360 is really the most powerful system this gen (but overall the PS3 is.) ^ That makes NO sense. 1. The 360 was a gen behind modern day PC's 2. You are saying the 360 is the most powerful system this gen but then say overall the PS3 is? Also at the "old Xbox use PC parts that were already out on the market." Err no. Just no.

1. I read somewhere on a site that the 360 was more powerful then the PC at its launch date If you try to price each part for part (sorry should of said that.)
2. PS3 is more powerful then the 360 yes, but like I said, the 360 was more powerful then the PC at pricing. When the PS3 came out, PC's were more powerful then it for the price.
3. The Xbox used a Custom Intel Pentium III, an 8 gig HDD and nVidia NV2A was compaired to a.....I forgot lol. P4 was out in Nov 2000 and it ran at 1.4 GHz
keep to the topic guys
From another angle, what about pessimism about the PC platform generally?
DB: Whatever. PC games have been drying for, how long now? Shouldn't it be dead by now? I mean, it's been on its sickbed for ten years. Give me a break. Obviously, it's doing fine. I think that if developers make great games, people will find them, wherever they are.
We get this every couple of years from the movie industry. They're like, "Aw, nobody's going to the movies." And I always think to myself, "Yeah, but you know what? You haven't put out anything I want to see?" And then they ship, I don't know, The Dark Knight, and they're like, "Naw, we're having a great year! Who knows why!?" Well, you made that great movie so we all came. Make great movies, and we'll come.
So, if people make great games, then they'll show up. But if people don't make great games, people will wander off. But they'll always come back if there are great games. It's hard for me to say, though, being inside Blizzard. Obviously, we're a PC company, and obviously we're very comfortable with that, and we feel we've had a certain amount of success with it.
Looking at what we do, I think it's fine. I think it's a very viable platform. I think it's a very fun platform to play on. I think there are things about the PC platform that make it superior to other platforms. It's all about what kind of games people play.

thats a good point and blizzard shows more support than alot of other devs for the pc community mainly cause of there big money making game wow, but in terms of big games in general fps games shooters (which blizzard never makes) there are alot more great lookin console exclusive games than pc, it seems to me i could be wrong though, but consoles get the better support for a finished more polished game because of there paydays to the mass majority of console gamers, all these games could at the very least be ported to the pc such as sony's kiillzone and ms gearsofwar 2 or halo3(why don't those console gamers give pc a good chance, i think you would see console gaming drop alot, if people would just give pc a real chance like 2-3 months of learning the m/k in an fps and hardly anyone would go back maybe a few but most would realize the power and control of the pc is superior to other platforms, hell you can even use ps3 or 360 controller on a pc even a wii controller while getting better graphics with the power of the pc yet theres less big tittles coming out for it because of the ppl that go out and buy the consoles

im just trying to see what pc gamers think about boycotting console gameplay all together because i believe it hurts pc gaming and gaming in general
because i think the quality of alot more devs on pc gaming is getting worse not all devs but alot more and i think this could be the reason why.
so if thats a failed thread to you then go criticize someone else's
those small dev companies don't have the resources to make a cuttin edge top notch pc game and the reason most small devs start out that way is so they can make the big bucks in the console world so i kind of look at it like we get new devs with less experience and as they get better go to consoles for the payday it sux.
can you name me some so i can try them out? and are there multiplayer fps ones?
Both stalkers & witcher are fantastic games. Witcher especially caught my attention once I got into it. takes a few hours for the game to grab you, but when it does you barely be able to stop playing it
Agreed with Witcher and Stalker.. two out of the few "greatest PC games out there" category.. Audiosurf, too. Missed the free Killing Floor weekend so I cant speak for that, but Arma II was fun. Torchlight also looks VERY promising, but i want to see if it ever makes it to the XBLA as it would fit nicely in that collection. The Diablo to ease the wait of Diablo III...
PS.. The Witcher is ALSO 50% off on steam right now.
