In the entertainment industry we see a lot of remade movies and music covers of old songs, but we never see an old video game being remade, I have a few games that I love which are old and I think would be a lot of fun playing them again but in a new version using the most recent technologies available and I believe if done right they would sell again.

I have come up with a few games I personally would like to see remade, these are old quest/advanture games I played that have good story and beautiful scenary which would look amazing using modern technology, the games are

Phantasmagoria, Sanitarium and Atlantis The Lost Tale, I will exaime what I think can be done with each game.

Old games have been being redone over and over! In different ways, style etc.

And the only games that will be redone are either out of copyrite or so popular, that it only makes sense to redo them from a business stand point.  Just do a google search for the games and see.

When you say remake do you mean like what they did to the Secret of Monkey Island.. just a facelift?

If that's the case, here's my list

Tim Schafer's Full Throttle or Maniac Mansion.

Earthworm Jim

Blaster Master

Everything else is either redone, redone too often, too many sequels, or wouldnt survive a remake because the 8-bit look IS the reason its nostalgic (imagine remaking Mario Bros. with HD graphics).

hmm, I think I have mixed feelings about this, on one hand, I would love to see a new take (or as NebsiNsaNe  said, "facelift") on an old classic, but on the other hand, would it ruin the memory that I had of that game being an old favorite?

Although remaking popular old games is a really lame way for studios to make some easy money and follows the trend of only publishing what is safe, I appreciate it being done nonetheless, since one has to make the original versions jump through hoops sometimes in order to get them to run on a modern OS.
