#1 You don't need to make two threads
#2 No it's not going to work. Your motherboard is ancient. Core 2 CPU's will not work on it.
Anyways, I'm off to work soon. If you have any more questions I'll answer them when I get back.
PS: Upgrading your computer is a waste of money. I'm not trying to be an a$$ but from what I saw the majority of upgrades will not be compatible and it's just a waste.
Ahh okay. Nevermind then.
Anyways, your motherboard is not compatible with the Core 2's. It is years old and just because it's the same socket doesn't mean it will use anything that uses said socket.
Give me your motherboard one more time. I can double check. Just be fast. I'm heading out in 10 minutes.
i just built a pc for my parents cost was 206dollars usd with no monitor (buying parts off of newegg.com)

This was just an extreme budget build i wouldnt build any less than a quad core or higher for myself and would never pay for an already built pc.
im gone to be doing a 250 dollar quad core (amd makes a 99 dollar quad core) build for a mate of mine when he gets his money together
lol no im an intel guy also
my specs are
intel core2 quad 3.6ghz OC (q6600)
8gb of geil black dragon ddr2 ram
2X geforce 260gtx 216sp 55nm
aperiva 680watt psu
2x LG 22x Dvd burners
23.6in wide screen
and a flux capacitor
its alright i guess i would go for a faster video card and make sure that motherboard in it can do some overclocking
