Will the new Call of duty game for PC be on windows live?
Im more of a PC gamer and i would liek to play the game with my brother whos on xbox live. Windows live isnt making that very easy since some games like LOTR conquest was on both systems but had two differant servers for online play. So i wasted money on the game. I herd The new game wont have deicated servers and such and will have matchmaking, But will it be on Live? or not.
I really hope it does since that game is going to be a huge thing when it comes out, and sense they constantly throw it will be like the console version in our faces they can atlease have the ability to play with xbox live gamers.
As sed in the other 50 topics, No its not GFWL
wow really? Wtf is the point of the game then? If its not even close to console versions with multiplayer then why say it is.. They act like its that much harder to add features they have in other games. The game cost 60 bucks on pc. thats Crap. so it cost event he same amount as console games with less features?
Well you don't have to get it then.
Can't wait for Final Fantasy XIII!
GivenToFly11: A PC game should never be $60 period. Publishers don't have to pay any fees as they do for releasing games on 360 and PS3. As for your question of 'wtf is the game for then.' Absolutely nothing. If you're a PC gamer and care about what makes PC gaming so special you wouldn't buy this game. Only good thing about it is that it uses Steamworks. But who cares if we get a stripped down multiplayer game.

Indeed.
I wouldn't say that it should NEVER cost $60, but in this case it shouldn't. I wouldn't mind paying $60 for a game that was actually worth it, like having an excellent campaign and a lot of replay value.
What exactly, in your opinion, makes PC gaming so special?
-*-*-Steam Suxx-*-*-
Steam doesn't suck you just don't know how to use it. If it sucked it wouldn't be the #1 digital distributor of games. 20 million unique ID's wouldn't be registered to it. And it wouldn't be one of the largest networks that is around today. A 200 or so man company to balance making games, releasing free DLC, and maintaining Steam is a feat.Is true Steam is not perfect (has room for a lot of improvement) however for many people like me that lives in places where retail channel doesn't exist is the only way to buy legit games.
Well deserved DICE!
RemySola: Well deserved DICE!
Lmfao, wrong thread RemySola
*points to the $60 check thread*
GivenToFly11: No sorry a PC game shouldn't be $60 as long as console games are. Publishers need to pay MS and Sony fees to distribute their games and this gen the fee is higher, thus the higher console game price. PC has no such fees. What makes PC gaming special? 1. A much better community 2. Open platform 3. Mods - Looking at the new CoD kill streaks a lot of them were basically taken from modders. Hardcore mode from CoD 4 was taken from modders, etc. Hardcore mode was in CoD 1 and 2 thanks to the modding community and IW even said they added it into 4 because of those guys. Modders move the industry forward. 4. Dedicated Servers 5. Free content 6. Superior graphics and controls 7. Fun and innovative Indie games that consoles never get. 8. A lot of Eastern European gems that consoles never get. 9. A heck of a lot more exclusives than consoles. (You just don't know because the devs who make them don't have the money for a marketing blitz. Western devs these days spend more money on the damn advertising than making the game itself...) 10. MMO's 11. RTS games where it's meant to be played. 12. Emulators PC gaming is in the hands of PC gamers where console gaming is a closed platform and in the hands of either MS or Sony. Anyways I can go on but that's enough reasons. PS: Steam doesn't suck you just don't know how to use it. 1 - Opinion of which community is better. DotA is a PC game through and through, would you want to have dinner with that community?
2 - I understand, and accept, this point
3 - I understand why you want mods, but I don't feel that modders move the industry forward. Maybe in Infinity Wards case, but defiantly not in the broader spectrum.
4 - Isn't required
5 - Free content is nice, but that doesn't get anyone anywhere, also it isn't always needed. If the game is good enough to begin with, free content is a niche point.
6 - Graphics are adjustable and different for everyone, so no. Controls are superior on the PC, but I don't feel that makes a PC game a PC game.
7 - That is how it used to be, but not so much anymore. Services on consoles allow Indi devs to distribute their games to a much wider audience than before.
8 - Eastern European gems?
9 - Exclusives don't make a platform great. Quality over Quantity.
10 - lolno. There is a market out there for MMO's, and a huge one, but one genera of games doesn't define the entire platform. That is saying you only want MMO's on the PC.
11 - Agreed that RTS play better on the PC, but obviously it can be done on the consoles as well. Halo Wars for example.
12 - Does that go along with your free content reason?
PC gaming isn't in the hands of the PC games any more than the games on the console are. Sure, some developers ALLOW us to change and modify the game, but that isn't our decision to make. Mass Effect, for example, didn't have any user-made mods due to Bioware locking it down as well as they did. Fallout 3, on the other hand, has a plethora of mods. It is up to the developer, not the users, if we can modify the game or not.
Before you accuse me of being a console fanboy, I must defend myself. My first console was a SNES, the last was the Gamecube. I play all my games on my computer, and hardly ever on consoles. Unlike you, I don't have blind loyalty into one platform. I agree the PC has more to offer, but it is stupid of you to whine and moan over something like dedicated servers. The platform doesn't make the games, the games make the platform.
PS: I know how to use Steam, and it is my personal opinion that it sucks. I believe there to be much better services out there, such as Xfire. If popularity meant anything, which it doesn't, then all your points here are moot as consoles out sell PCs in games every single day.
AMEN BROTHER on those 12 things :) AMEN
