When I search I was looking for threads not posts.  So I started this thread.

Still no point. Especially because Modern Warfare 2 PC is almost not a PC game. And these are PC forums :D I have made several pointless threads, and this is not as bad as some of mine (Country poll anyone?) Well, too late now. And I dont want to start a forum war like a few users almost did. It is a great opportunity. And as I didnt see any replies to the other guys post... I guess this is fine.

Looks like D2D won't be selling the game, though their reasons seem both smart and less than truthful.

At Direct2Drive, we believe strongly that when you buy a game from us, you shouldn't be forced to install and run a 3rd party software client to be able to play the game you purchased. Because COD MW 2 requires you, the consumer, to do that, we aren't able to offer the game via Direct2Drive at this time.

Seems like they're placing the blame on Steam, but still, D2D offers other games like Dawn of War 2 that also requires third party software to play.. So I don't really know what their true intent is. If they got rid of games that required GFWL, that Bioware/EA social thing, that Rockstar social thing and/or Steam, then I can see this statement as being a true business move, but it seems to me like they're just jumping on the MW2 hate bandwagon..

Just my two cents.

EDIT: I had found this on their product listing for MW2, but now I can't seem to find it to link it any longer. Looks like they just got rid of it altogether.

Yeah looks like your right. Now they're saying that not only is D2D doing this, but so is Impulse and Gamersgate, too. This is turning out to be a complete sh!tstorm.. I wonder if these Digital Stores will discontinue anything else that requires 3rd parties or what Valve will say about this.

I wonder what next?.

Will they remove games that has GFWL because it is from Microsoft?.

Or

Will Steam remove all games that uses GameSpy?.
