TASHYSMASHY: What about versus mode in RE5 When it'll come, is there anything news from CAPCOM???
consoles got it, pc didn't, sorry
Capcom are not happy with PC sales of RE5 and say DLC will usually arrive in the first month or not at all so forget it.
Your not missing much anyway as the PC version is already superior to the console version in every way the DLC was very poorly received as it should have been included for free but Capcom wanted to charge for it so held it back from the X360 release then release a 2MB DLC to activate it!!!

post #30 (Sven is their VP for sales and a big PC gaming supporter as he is also on the board for PCGA!!!)
I agree Capcom in Japan are very greedy as now they are backtracking on Lost Planet2 on PC. Its gone from being yes its coming to no plans for a PC version (despite Lost Planet & Lost Planet Colonies with GFWL) and despite someone proving to them on their forums a picture of a Capcom producer showing LP2 running on a PC to other devs !!!! yet still Capom deny it so like last year with RE5 now the waiting game begins and who knows if they will pull the same stunt with Dead Rising2 as they have learnt to keep quiet then announce 5-6 months later a PC version on DMC4, RE5 & SF4.

GivenToFly11: You do know he said absolutely nothing about being displeased? He said the sales so far are okay. Nothing to scold at and nothing to celebrate. ..and this was only 2 1/2 weeks or so after the games release...Honestly, what more does he want when the game is released half a year after the console version. That says nothing. Another thing you have to admit is GFW LIVE doesn't help sales. Bash me all you want. I am just saying it how it is. A lot of people on various forums say they refuse to buy DoW II, SF4, etc. just because it's a LIVE game. Many of the people here might be passionate about LIVE for the PC but there are quite a few PC gamers who do not like it. Various polls in game forums ( GTA4, DoW II, etc) that ask what they think of GFW LIVE result in the majority saying 'Scrap it' or 'Use Steam.'

GFWL is far from perfect I like the achievements and the cross platform play works well on Lost Planet Colonies but thats it the rest needs improving.
However, many people hate STEAM a whole lot more than GFWL especially in Europe (outside UK as we get the best pricing now but rest of EU gets screwed badly on STEAM prices by as much as 40% more than US/UK STEAM users!!!).
Most of the PC gamers who hate GFWL are poorly misinformed as in the EU a lot of the problems with it are down to ISP's making changes to your Router so your NAT status changes to Closed from Open every month & or the PC gamers cannot understand why their own security settings block GFWL interface from working properly so unfairly blame GFWL.
I'm not suggesting that PC gamers should need to change anything and GFWL should just work perfectly but EU ISP's have policies whereby many every month reset your router & hardware firewall settings to default when they calculate your bandwidth useage if you have one (if the ISP provide's the equipment that is) which causes GFWL to not work until you either re-open your NAT & or firewall settings & or port numbers.
Then you have many PC gamers who think they know better than MS & disable services on their PC which they think they do not need as some fool has written guides like disable all these services to improve your PC performance etc etc.
Services like SSDP Discovery & UPnp Device Host control the port forwarding on Windows Vista so all these same PC gamers who complain about GFWL could quite easily fix their issues in less time than it takes to rant about it on a forum!
Not saying they should have to but obviously if MS changed the GFWL client install so it opened everything up with System Admin access thats another can of worms legally!
You dont want the VS mode, its crap!
Paid for it for my 360 version, waste of cash, play mercs mode instead IMO!
