I just installed Crysis finally on my Windows 7, and it works just fine, except one problem; I can not switch to the old profile I created on Vista (which I copied over from that HDD) it simply crashes to desktop, so I deleted it.

So since I deleted it (I never really got all that far anyway Embarrassed) I decided to create a new profile, well as soon as I do, it crashes to the desktop again.

Like I said, if I use the default profile, it runs flawlessly.  I guess I shouldn't be concerned If I'm able to play it, but to me that means something is not working right.

Now as I write this it occurs to me that I have yet to run the game as administrator, so I'll try that when I get home, but the only other thing I can think that I may need to address is that of the 3 patches for the game, I only installed the first one as administrator, the two latter ones I did not, was rushing too much...

So if running the game as administrator doesn't work, does anybody have any suggestions that I could try, outside of the obvious uninstall and start from scratch...

Thanks.

I'd fully patch up the game to 1.21. I don't have any issues on Win 7 64 bit, other than having to tinker with forcing the correct refresh rate for my HDTV for this game (for some odd reason it likes to go to the lowest refresh rate for a given HD resolution like 24 Hz).

Are you talking about a save file or windows user profile?

Neither one. He is talking about in game profile which saves ingame settings, saves and other stuffs.

well, deleting the old profile and creating the new one actually worked, but not only did I have to reboot the game, but I had to reboot the computer after the game crash in order for it to take, and then upon starting the game, my personal gamesave profile showed up as default.

Too bad I didn't get to keep my saved game, sadly I really wasn't too far into the game, but for some reason I've done the beginning part of the game a half dozen times or so, I guess one more ...

OH, and one more thing, you know how I thought I'd give running the game as administrator a shot?  Well, it wouldn't even launch that way!  I tried several different ways and it just would not launch, in fact it would not do anything at all, it was like clicking on empty air.

Regardless, it works now, thanks all.
