Will Windows VISTA Games work on WINDOWS 7 ? Games suck as Need For Speed Carbon Or NBA Live 08 NHL Live ect.

I was going tho the dawn of war 2 tech forums and I noticed that ppl are saying that gfwl games have limited activations on them then posting screens of the error saying that the user has run out of activations and needs to enter a new key.

But anyway my question is can anyone confirm or deny gfwl games having the same limited install bs that ea tried to inflict on customers

Hey all-

Anyone in Australia interested in getting together for a GoW co-op campaign run? I have access to both a Teamspeak and Ventrilo server if needed aswell, not sure if GoW(PC) has built in voice, probably not.

If your interested drop your LIVE name here and I'll add you, or vice versa.

I'm just looking for Australian co-op partners mainly so we can get some decent connections but I'm willing to try running a campaign with some US partners aswell...it may work who knows.

It happens with playing games of course, but I have noticed windowed application such as MediaPlayer unfocus themselves also after a random time frame, usually 30 minutes.

Anyone else came across this and knows a solution perhaps?

And no nothing in the registry or running in the background that shouldn't be there, so its not a virus or any form of malware. Perhaps a DirectX bug?

Either way any insight would be welcome :)

GFWLive prior to Fallout 3

I embraced GFW when I bought Fallout 3 and have made use of a couple of DLCs with no problem. However, I have revisited a few games (Crysis, Crysis: Warhead & Bioshock) all billed as GFW Live, but I don't see how to connect to Live through the game menus as it is done in Fallout and I don't know if there are any authorized DLCs for any of these games.What does GFW Live offer with regard to these games?:

Ok guys (and gals, if there are any here), new poll:

It's been a recurring thing around most forums including our own here.

People will resurrect an all but dead thread in order to add something to the subject, or perhaps not have noticed how old it is and just wanted to add something in general (you know, actually have used the search feature that is included in the forum to find a subject they are interested in following and/or discussing)

... and people get mad

People will start new threads without checking to see if a thread on the subject already exists, and we end up with multiple threads pertaining to the same subject material.

... and people get mad

So here we go, a nice simple poll to find out what we should consider proper procedure for our fine little (albeit growing) community here.

Now that this is a known concern for many here, I was wondering if the results could be added somewhere in the forum FAQ or in the fourm rules (wait, do we even have forum rules? lol)

The way I figure it, if we all can come to some sort of agreement, then people won't get annoyed by it if it is some sort of general policy.

I myself am voting for resurrecting the older thread if it is relevant to that subject.

IF IT IS OF SIGNIFICANT DIFFERANCE or if it is of different enough nature pertaining new information, then sure start a new thread.

I personally do not like seeing multple threads on old subjects, in fact resurrecting an old subject can be more valuable than not, because it can keep people from repeating what has already been said or addressed before.

How can I do this?

Since I'm probably not the only one here who's trying to get his/her collection of Live enabled games complete, how about we post our progress here? Maybe we can even help each other to find good deals on games not yet owned.

After getting Lost Planet in the mail today and being the highest bidder (Ebay) on Quantum of Solace yesterday, I'm up to 10/14 (not counting Warhammer:DoW2 of course)

Games For Windows Marketplace

I check the marketplace everyday to see whats going on in the PC world...but i just get nothing.

I check the xbox marketplace, and they have new demos, and more add ons than GFWL marketplace.

So i am wondering if either Microsoft don't bother to update the GFWL marketplace or nothing is out, which is extremely un-likely

Can you tell me if your marketplace is different than mine, with different stuff new in your marketplace (mine is 4 "new" street figher IV things, starting with the benchmark demo and ending in the shoryuken pack)

wow finally activision might be helping out the hardcore pc gamer by bringing wow pay service to call of duty but while doing it make a better game!

could this be a bad thing though imagine the same game with a monthly fee lol i didn't buy mw2 just cause of no lean button and no dedicated servers plus no mods and bad tourney play now for that game.

Many members of the media have been trying to get a hold of Infinity Ward to clarify their decisions regarding the PC port of Modern Warfare 2. Kotaku managed to get the developer's community manager Robert Bowling on the horn but unfortunately he didn't address the issues PC gamers have had with the upcoming shooter directly (no dedicated servers, no word on mod support, etc).

Instead Bowling generalized their decisions regarding the PC version, saying once again they wanted to make the game more accessible to the average player. He dismissed the people who have complained about the changes as a loud minority saying, "We have 14 million players on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The hardcore gamers make up a smaller core of that, and PC gamers are the smallest group of that core. It is a very vocal community and they are all online."

Bowling also feels that because their community is so highly invested in their games, " . . . we should justify every design decision to them." However he also feels that the developer shouldn't be held to those demands completely, saying, "We know our game very well. Some of the stuff you have to put in there and have faith in your design. Some things don't sound good out of context. You don't see the beauty of them until you experience them for yourselves." When asked if the next Modern Warfare game would even be made for the PC, Bowing dodged the question saying that they don't know what their next game will be.

Crysis Can't Run In Full Screen Mode

I get a black screen when I try to run the game in full screen mode but I can hear the game music and i cant ctrl+alt+del and it requires a hard reboot............(I'm on win 7 ultimate)

* i noticed 90% of my games dont work anymore since my win 7 installation I guess I'm going back to Vista!!!

All the games I had when I used Windows Vista were playable. Now with Windows 7, whenever any of my games starts in full screen mode, my monitor turns black and does nothing else. The monitor still detects my computer because the monitor gave me no error of a missing input. I cannot alt+tab or Ctrl+Alt+Del or even WindowsLogo+Tab and I am forced to cut the power and restart. After long tiring research giving me such suspects like DirectX 11, disabling Aero, to the all popular lacking computer requirements to play the game I could play before I installed Windows 7. My conclusion was I could play games as long as there are not in full screen mode or in other words Windowed Mode.

Why must I play all my games in Windowed Mode to play them on Windows 7? Is there a way to fix this problem?

I'm playing a game like Shadowrun or NBA 2K10 and at some really RANDOM point my pc just completely freezes/locks-up and I have to restart every time. This didn't happen with Windows Vista with DX10........The freezes might occur because of Win 7 that I installed on launch day or it could be because of DX11....I'm not sure

Anyone has any ideas of what might be possibly forcing these freeze ups to occur?
