Playing Nice on the Forums

The new mod here again, of late I have been seeing a bit more commentary on the vitriolic side, as well as a significant amount of questionable commentary involving unreleased titles, and or exploits. It’s my goal to keep these forums by the people for the people, but there are certain limits I am forced to impose:

I need you fine people to play nice. I love the fact everyone here is so passionate about gaming, it does this old gamers heart good seeing the chatter between everyone. But *gfwlmod edits* honestly things are getting out of hand. I try to keep things open and allow people to be themselves, but that is not a blank check to be, well... needlessly abrasive. I understand people can have bad days, or really dislike each other, but ignore said person. If I see them harassing you, well, thats what mods are for, you responding in kind only gives them what they want and adds to the fairly grim atmosphere of late.

Also... chatting about things such as how to cheat in a game, when it is not simply entering in u, d, u, d, l, r, l, r, b, a start, or idkfa, I have to draw the line. If you find a cool easter egg and you want to share it, awesome, as long as it is not a spoiler, or if it is please mark it as such. But, please try to keep the “how to cheat” comments to the legitimate routes of cheating

I do not overtly want to start deleting threads, or handing out temp/perm bans, ideally my role here is to foster your growth as a community, not be a draconian overlord (that’s really much more of my weekend job), but there are limits outlined in the TOU etc. *made lots of edits.

I am also willing to take suggestions about what you guys want from me to make it so everyone is able to have more fun, the vast majority of you all are good people... don't let the bad apples mess it up for everyone.

We are currently investigating an issue in which new forum users cannot sign up for new forum accounts to post on the Games for Windows – LIVE forums. We hope to have this resolved in the near future. Existing forum users should be able to post without any issues.

I will provide updates as often as I hear anything from the devs.

LucasArts said they would have some special announcements at their San Diego Comic-Con panel and boy, were they right. Today they revealed that they will be releasing a PC and Mac version of 2008's best selling action game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed in a new "Ultimate Sith Edition". This new version will contain all of the content of the original console game plus three all new missions that continue the storyline of Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice.

This new version, which will be co-published by Aspyr Media sometime this fall., will also contain new costumes for the game's lead character the Secret Apprentice. It will also have new character models that will give players a chance to control classic Star Wars characters like Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Count Dooku, Jango Fett and C-3PO.

I have received enough complaints, you may have noticed my free hand at editing and deleting of late, it's more work, and to be honest something I should not have to do. This is a community, it has standards and practices (http://forums.gamesforwindows.com/t/100.aspx) you need to follow them. I value the members of this community, I enjoy the ideas, and help people provide to the community, and I enjoy general gamer-ness, but by that same point I need to make sure that those people that are here for the community/support are not drowned out by people that are here for no apparent reason but to troll.

If people refuse to follow the code of conduct and maintain a reasonable role in the community they will be removed.

This is not to say I only want glowing posts. If you don't like something, provide a reason, but do not use it as a vehicle to launch into flaming other users or specific titles.
