Exceeded the usage allowed by the product key

I have Grand Theft Auto IV for the PC and am getting an error message You have exceeded the usage allowed by the product key when I try to sign in to live from within the GTA IV PC game. How can I get this issue fixed? I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game and the GFWL client multiple times. The revoke function is only for SecuROM activation but does not free up the product key from the Live account and after too many reinstallations my product key got locked out from GFWL.

Hello everybody!

I want to play GTA IV again since a few months ago and I cant connect to GWL.

First, it says that a new update is available and when I try to apply that patch, it says cant connect, check your internet connection and blah blah blah...

Second, I have downloaded the latest patch for GTA IV and GWL manually.

Third, After doing that, I'm still having problems connecting to GWL.

Fourth, the error is 0X80072751

Help me please :(

Exceeded Usage allowed by Product Key

I have Grand Theft IV retail version. I ran out of GFWL activations again and when I called the GFWL support they said they are only able to replace the Live access token once and unable to send another replacement token and said I need to buy a new copy of the game to resolve this issue. I called RockStar tech support and they are unable to handle the issue with GFWL. I tried asking RockStar to call GFWL and they are unable to call out. How much is Grand Theft Auto IV and when does it go on sale so I can buy another copy cheaper.

Whenever i try to download any content i get an error message saying this content is not avaliable in your region. Im from the uk and have never had this problem before. Any ideas or suggestions about this error?

DoW II add-on download issue

Recently I upgraded to Windows 7 and as I was using Windows XP previously I had to go down the clean install route. As such I did fresh installs of both Dawn of War II and the Games for Windows - LIVE marketplace client. Today I updated to the 3.1 client and started it up for the first time since installing Win 7 and noticed the add-ons I got for DoW II that I was wondering how to add back into the game. So, I click download on both of them but get error 80004005 everytime with a message saying 'The data is invalid'. Upon further investigation it appears that the Game Activation Key and LIVE access Code haven't been re-assigned in the GFW-LIVE client and I can't find anywhere to re-enter them. As these were both got using redeemable codes (the first from pre-order and the second for being one of the first 100,000 to register the game) there is nowhere else I know of to try and re-download them again.

Dawn of War II itself seems to work fine and I've recently been enjoying the new Last Stand game mode. It seems its just these 2 downloads I have left to get before I can fully enjoy the game once more.

Any assistance in this matter would be appreciated, and I'll happily return the favour by playing DoW II with anyone who wants someone to play with.

Computer can't find Fallout 3 add-ons Operation Anchorage or The Pitt

I have purchased Operation Anchorage, The Pitt, and Mothership Zeta add-ons for Fallout 3 from G4WL. Now all of a sudden my PC can't detect the Operation Anchorage or The Pitt .esm files. However Mothership Zeta is still there? How do I get the other two back?

Note: I'm running Windows Vista

Halo 2 Windows 7 (combining threads/issues)

Ok, so we have people reporting Halo 2 Vista/Windows 7 not playing well together. One of our users seems to have combed the posts and put together a little help post to get people up and playing if they are having this issue. (http://forums.gamesforwindows.com/t/8000.aspx)

I however want to try to zero in on the cause a bit more, so I am making a new thread where hopefully I can gather all the people having said issue in one thread, for ease of browsing (users) and ease of data management (slightly lazy forum moderator)

So if you are having issues with Halo 2 running on Windows 7, in particular issues with the LIVE functionality I would appreciate you posting here with the following info:

Is the Windows 7 install a fresh install, or is it an upgrade? If an upgrade from what edition? (NEW)

DxDiagLogFile (preferably as link or just post log)

The step by step process you followed for installing the game or the setuplog.

The steps you have taken to remedy it (reinstalling windows/LIVE client/Halo 2)

The error provided in event viewer when Halo2 crashes

The process list you have active when Halo2 crashes.

Run the following command in CMD (start -> run -> cmd) when you receive the error "tasklist /M xlive.dll" (no quotes) and post the results.

I know some of you have already provided this info, and it may seem odd to ask for it again, but this way there will be one thread where people can find all the needed info.

GFWL suddenly not unlocking achievements.

Yesterday, while playing Fallout3 goty edition, I unlocked several achievements:
Big Trouble in Big Town, Paving the Way, Operation: Anchorage.

But those didn't showed up on xbox.com. A few hours earlier, the achievements Aiding the Outcasts and The Guns of Anchorage did unlock.

I tried the following:

1. Gpd removal.
Launch Fallout 3 and log in online to your LIVE enabled account (make sure that you can see your friends list)
Wait for a few moments (2-3 minutes) this will make sure that all other achievements are reported to LIVE
Exit Fallout 3
Search your computer for a file named 425307D6.gpd (it should be under some sub folders in %localappdata%\Microsoft\xlive\content\ There will be a 425307D6.gpd file for each LIVE account that you have on your computer. Most of you will only have one, but if there are more please repeat steps 1-3 for each profile on your PC or make sure that you are targeting your own 425307D6.gpd file by checking the tile_64.png picture in the same directory. This should be the gamer picture of your profile.
Once you are sure this is the 425307D6.gpd file associated with your account delete just that file.
Launch Fallout 3
Load a saved game as close to the point of gaining the achievement(s) as possible and complete the quests

2. Account deletion and recovery.

3. Account recovery again and unlocking them in offline mode.

4. Removed and installed F3, .net and GFWL.

5. Renamed Microsoft\XLive\SysCache\

6. Tried another GFWL game (Dawn of War 2, fully verified on Steam) and unlocked Emperor's Champion, exact same problem.

I'm using XP x64 fully patched, open nat, only 1 gamertag on this computer, and no anti-virus active while testing above.

Is there anything else I can do? Other than fully reinstalling the OS and lose an activation? Thanks in advance.

The Connection To GFWL has been lost.

I and my friend have legal copies of GTA 4(1.0.0.4). We are already registered in GFWL and RGSC.

My friend don't have any problems with connection to server.

When I'm trying to connect server, I get the error "The Connection To GFWL has been lost. Returning to single player"

Also this error appears when i'm trying to create my own server.

"Games for Windows - LIVE Client has stopped working"... yet it hasn´t!

Weirdest crash ever: When I sign into gfwl, I get the generic "has stopped working" error message. HOWEVER, until I click the "close" button in that message box, gfwl seems to be working normally in the background. I still need to sort out this problem, however, since both Dawn of War 2 and Red Faction Guerilla are not working on my system (crash on startup), and I need to eliminate gfwl as a possible cause.

GFWL client in French, yet system language is Dutch

Title says it all. I'm on a dutch computer (I checked my keyboard options and everything is Dutch), but still the GFWL client thinks that I'm French. Some parts of the client are Dutch, but the pages itself are all in French. Could this possibly be because I live in Belgium? We speak French & Dutch here, but I would still like to change my language.

Resident Evil 5 SLOW

When I play Resident Evil 5 in online and offline, the game is so smooth. But when I want to shoot, it is kinda lag. I already pull the trigger but after 2-3 secs, then only the bullet goes to the zombie, it's kinda having a delay or something. Is anyone having a solution for this?

Getting Disconnected from Live?

After I downloaded the new update...I think

Whenever I sign into Halo 2 and click Live it signs me out automatically after 5 seconds?

I click Live, go to the server list and get signed out without any error. It did this before the update, but that was to inform me to download it.

Also I just made a dedicated server...is that the problem?

mic not working

My USB Dynex Mic does not work. with Dawn of war II beta. I have checked all volume setting both with the PC and with g4wl. even tried it in another usb port. The mic works fine in other steam games and in general use with the PC. I have made sure the drivers are up to date for the mic. I have check and test all options in live. Including all input device options. Nothing working. I have no other G4WL games to try it with. The setting in the G4WL application that can run independently form DOW II does not have mic settings. I was able to rule out The USB aspect of the mic being the issue because I have a stereo mic that agian works with everything else but G4WL. I insured that the live account allows voice on it. Again it works great on all other applications but G4WL DOW II.

Why dont I have any played games on my client?

I'm not sure this is the right forum or right avenue for addressing this issue But I find it hard to find any proper contacts for dealing with Games for Windows with regard to this matter. If someone could redirect me to a better contact method such as a technical support e-mail they offer it would be appreciated.

My issue is that I recieved a bonus code for use with the game Dawn of War 2 and entered it through the Games for Windows Marketplace as instructed on it, the code was accepted but during processing it gave me an error. Now since that time, whenever I try to input the code again, instead of processing or giving me an error, the Games for Windows Marketplace just reloads the code submit screen with my code pre entered.

This is really frustrating that there seems to be no proper technical support regarding such matters, I simply want to recieve the goods I am entitled to but it is made quite difficult by the Games for Windows system.

I can't play multiplayer in GTA IV. I have a LIVE account.

Hi, I have a GFWL account in GTA IV but since the 1.0.0.4 patch in this game I can't play multiplayer. When I try to connect by the phone it says:Connection to GFWL lost - returning to single player mode. or something like that. My game is in spanish. I have some photos. GFWL Client Corruption

I had posted this once before, but I think it is good to revisit. Thank you to the Timegate, Section 8 users for this process.

Some users have reported an issue with Games for Windows - LIVE (GfWL) causing Section 8 to crash on start-up with the message “Games for Windows Live failed to initialize” or similar GfWL error messages. These are most likely caused by an improper installation of GfWL, a conflicting network setting, or conflicts with virus scanning software.

In order to resolve this issue, please try the following in order:

1. Uninstall GfWL (Note: You must uninstall both "Games for Windows - Live" and "Games for Windows - Live Redist")
◦Vista: Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features
◦XP: Go to Control Panel > Add Remove Programs
2. Navigate to your System folder (32-bit systems: C:\WINDOWS\system32 64-bit systems: C:\WINDOWS\system64) and make sure the following are deleted from your PC:
Move the xlive folder to another area of your HDD, do not delete
◦xlive.dll
◦xlive.dll.cat
◦xlive.pdb
◦xlivefnt.dll
3. Reinstall the latest version of GfWL: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=9b3d84ca-15ef-4652-b7ad-540a25a38f89
4. Move the xlive folder back to it's proper location
