Just installed Street Fighter IV from steam and Gears of War from Game stop, when I go to log into Games for windows live on either game it starts to download my profile and then hangs for a good 30 seconds... an error then appears that states the following: "The Live service may be unavailable, or there may be an issue with your home networking

Correct, you HAVE to have social club running in order to run the game... in the screen where it asks you for your user name and password simply hit the "skip logon" button... or if you see that your logged in simply hit the "log out" under your avitar, it should allow you to skip the server check and launch the game without error

yea if you simplyp skip the login to the social club it works! working here
