Ive been wondering if there is any chance that the upcoming Lost Planet 2 PC Game may have Local Splitscreen Co-op. Many games that are released with this great feature I sincerely enjoy, but when it comes to playing PC versions of these games this option is in most cases non existant. I do not understand why it is taken out as I have heard so many times and now believe and know that PC's are powerful machines. So whats going on?

Id certainly like to see this mode come back strongly. After all we deserve all the same modes all the other platfoms get!

The option of a friend or relative passing by and joining in instead of watching me play asking "is this 2 players" ......ummm Nah!

What do you guys think, should this option not be in our games?

Or am I all alone on this one.

It would definitly be a good opion I wouldnt mind using my PC over the xbox 360 for multiplayer but how many people would do this most PC multiplayer is over the net not splitscreen even games such as Gears of war which had splitscreen functionality on the 360 lost that feature for Games for windows live so i really dont think this will happen but you can only hope Big Smile

I would seriously doubt it. Why we lose it, I have no idea, but splitscreen gaming on PC just doesn't happen all that often. Heck, any kind of same system multiplayer on PC is hard to come by. Last game I played with that option was Trine, and it was awesome, the game was almost totally different playing co-op.

With the penetration of PCs into the living room now, I don't understand why developers don't put the option in for PC gamers. But, don't forget, a lot of console games are starting to lack the feature now too. Sigh.

Here's to hoping.

Remember, there are two reasons for the absence of splitscreen in pc and console games.

1. Money

If developers can force each player to have their own copy of a game, which means each player would have to purchase their own copy, the overall revenue gained from the game would be much higher.

2. Practicality

With the majority of computers out there, most set ups are built for a single player, not multiple. There are a small minority of players, like myself, who hook their computers up to their hdtv to play games, and even if this factor was now insignificant, the performance power required to run multiple instances of a game would be too much, especially since pc games have much better graphics, which require more computing power.

Yeah Splitscreen needs to be implemented into more upcoming PC Games. My PC is hooked up to my HDTV in my room like "DisputedFire" so Its the only mode that seems to be missing to complete my experience.

Thanks for "everyones" input so far I look foward to hearing more opinions !!.Big Smile

Yeah, I do the same thing, nice long HDMI cable to my TV and wireless 360 controllers.
