Ok this is ridiculous. The other day i was happily enjoying grand theft auto, when all of a sudden wonderful games for windows notifies me of an update. Oh great i think, maybe this will fix the fact that it never lets me sign in online!
So i install the update, which takes forever, and then i carry on playing GTA IV. But no, the update has completely screwed everything. The game, which ran perfectly, now stutters, freezes, has low fps, and crashes. Now i have no problem with this, i assumed it was just something on my pc. So i headed down to GTAForums to see if anyone could help. But look; someone had already made a post about the update!
So i read, and want to know what i found? EVERY USER IS EFFECTED BY THIS UPDATE IN GTA IV!
There are 15 pages of nothing but the same problems i am having, not a single person has come foward to say the update worked fine. And the thing that annoys me, and everyone else effected the most, is that we have hear NOTHING from microsoft about this. NOTHING from games for windows about this. We have been shoved to the side and now we feel like we have been robbed.
When will this horrible update be fixed? Are you ever going to fix it? Every single person who has bought GTA IV for pc has this issue, thats ALOT of people to ignore don't you think?

Don't even bother telling me my pc is out of dat, it isn't. Don't bother telling me i should buy a legal copy of the game, it is legal. Don't bother telling me it's just my computer, it isn't.
Please, WE WANT to speak to someone official about this, and WE WANT it to be adressed. Here is the GTAForums thread before you all attack me, read it please. Then you will see the scale of this f*ck up.

I am sure owners of GTA IV were very ticked off after the update.
And btw, you did a good job of providing evidence that almost all GTA players are faced with this problem.
I can't give you a good advice on this topic other than waiting for the GFWL moderator to comment. Perhaps some light will be shed on that matter then.
And yes, I am currently going through a similar dilemma: Waiting rather impatiently for those guys at Bethesda to release an Asian patch for Fallout 3, so I can get my DLC.
Initially I was mad like you, but it did not do any good. So I took some time out to compose myself and hope for the best.

Yeah thanks for the reply mate. I am sorry, its just we all feel like we are being completely ignored, and its frustrating. I am sure both Rockstar and Microsoft have both recieved many emails about this issue, and they haven't even attempted to inform us of whats going on.
A few people have had big probles with this so far. I hope GFWL team will fix it soon.

Nah its ok.
Its mostly a LIVE issue. If you look around the forums, there had been reports of GTAIV acting weird after the update: Similar to what you said (slow framerate lag etc.).
However, there is a moderator here that is accountable to GFWL and everything that happens so I suppose this issue will be resolved in time.
I say that you are in a better position then I am because surely GFWL has to clear up the mess it made. Me on the other hand, are not sure if the guys at bethesda are gonna release a patch for Asians or not....

But even from this forum, I can see that GTAIV is currently in the deep end of the S#$% pool.
And that's bad enough, considering the fact that I did not even know a 15 page complaint existed before you brought it up.
I got dawn of war 2 about 2 days ago off steam and worked PERFECTLY. But... Now i can't even sign into *** live anymore after the "Manditory live update". Now all it does is say "Signing In" and does that forever and never signs in. I dont know if other people are having the same problem or not but it's pissing me off to hell.

Lol! Microsoft will get it from EVERYONE if they don't do anything.
Yea and there also gonna lose sales in the future if they dont start talking to us and letting us know there working on it. And screw the " We have Had No problems with the update" They tell us.

Maybe its cause you bought it through Steam.
