This seems like an issue that may be most easily resolved by contacting technical support via telephone.  Here are the instructions to get through to a Games for Windows - LIVE technical support agent.  Currently we do not have an entry in the interactive voice recognition (IVR) software, so you'll have to ask specifically to be escalated to a Games for Windows - LIVE agent once you get a general LIVE agent on the line.  Additionally, the IVR responds to spoken words, so you'll need to speak your choices.

North America Only
Dial 1-800-469-9269
Say: "Technical support"
Say: "Xbox LIVE" (Yes, you have to say Xbox LIVE to get to the proper support centers who can forward you appropriately, this will be resolved once we get an IVR specific to Games for Windows - LIVE in place.)
Speak the phone number you want to be called back at in case of a disconnect
Have your gamertag ready
Remember: Once you get an agent on the phone, make sure you tell them specifically that you have a problem with Games for Windows - LIVE on the PC and you need to be escalated to a Games for Windows - LIVE agent.

will this work with any game?

my Fallout 3 has been used up  and if not im not goin thru the pain of calling getting a person, then getting a person who i can understand (no offence its just i dont hear well, then  they not know what to do

I uninstalled GTA IV and waited until GFWL 3.0 came out and then reinstalled the game and installed GFWL 3.0 and still get the same exceeded usage error when entering the original product key that came with the game.  I had to still use the replacement key provided by GFWL support.  Does this game still have the same activation limit even after GFWL 3.0 came out.  Is the unlimited install with key linking to an account only applicable to certain games that uses this feature?

It will be up to developers to implement support for the server side authentication features provided in the newest Games for Windows - LIVE release.

Exceeded key usage is handled by MSFT and corrupt/invalid keys are handled by the develpers

If you key usage really is exceeded there is not much you can do.

And remember that each person will be looked after on a case to case basis.

Doesn't mean that you will be able to get a resolution, so give them a call and see.

Hey, I'd definitely try calling them back, they've helped me with something like this before.  It takes a little while, but they should be able to help you.

Call them at 1-877-274-4349.

I intended to install/ uninstall my game on 3 different PCs and copied the same profile to them. But now my key is not working anymore after uninstalling the game for the first time. Can the GFW live team help me please?

it is stupid that the the game is listed on the profile as one of the games I own but I can't sign in with it.

I don't see why they wouldn't help you.  From my understanding, they have to go through some information and some testing before they can get you a new key (to verify the key and copy of the game is legit, and avoid piracy).

But yeah, I'd suggest you call them and see what they can do.  From what I hear on the forums, the process can take a while, so be patient, but you may as well get the process started now, so they can get to work on getting you a new key.

For US and Canada:

Good luck!
