Calculating Download Size
When attempting to download content from the Games for Windows - LIVE Marketplace app, the content doesn't download and you just see the message "Calculating Download Size", this happens when port 3074 hasn't been forwarded, or hasn't been forwarded properly.  Ensure that port 3074 is forwarded, unblocked by firewall or anti-virus, etc.

XP Hotfix for languages other than English
If when launching the Marketplace app you are greeted with a message indicating that you need a specific fix for Windows XP to accomodate larger download sizes, but the download you are given is in the wrong language, please consult this list and choose the download that is appropriate to your language.

Metadata Not Valid

If you get an error indicating that your metadata is not valid, it means that the system time (your actual Windows System Clock) is not correct.  If you open it up and synchronize it (in Vista) or use a third party clock synchronization software (in XP), the issue should be resolved.

You would need to look into port forwarding for your firewall/router software and hardware, in order to properly forward port 3074.

Don't know how to post without replying, there is no option.  Anyway, my question is where exactly does games for windows live download the content to.  For instance I downloaded Broken Steel (b/c apparently this is the only place you can possible get it online) and I cannot open the stuff in the geck due to no .bsa file for broken steel being there.  I searched my computer and nothing new has been added pertaining to Fallout 3.  Any help will be appreciated.

Depends on your OS.

XP

Vista is C:\Users\"nt user name"\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Xlive\DLC

I looked in the "users" folder and the folders it contains and there is no such "AppData", "Local", "Xlive", or "DLC" folder on my computer (i searched everywhere).  I also searched for .esm and .bsa files as well as for "broken", "steel", and "dlc" and no files where found for Broken Steel.  I am confused here because I downloaded it and it plays when I play my game.  When I downloaded it was downloading a .bsa file?  I know everyone who downloads these add ons can modify them with the game makers mod tool the "geck", but I can't fild the files anywhere on my computer.  I also looked in every folder on my computer with the word "microsoft" on it.  I downloaded regularly and everything was automatic.  There are simply no files to be found.  How can I check where GFWL is pulling the information from when I play b/c the game is deffinitely there?  Oh, and I am the administrator of the computer and have access to everything.  In fact my computer is only 2 weeks old and very little has been added to it.  OS is vista 32bit.  Thanks.

Nevermind, I found it elsewhere.  The issue was stupid  vista having the option to unhide files in a really nonsensical place.  Thanks anyway.

What or where is port 3074?   Some us are not techies.   All I know, I bought the download for Pitt, I get the calculating error.   I called x-box, they said call bethesda, they couldn't figrure.    Now, I"m reading about this port thing.   Can some explain it in "people" terms.   As of right now, I'm frustrated that I paid for something that isn't working.

There is only one way. Contact the ISP.

Hi,

I am having this same problem. Please let me know where this is "hidden" as I downloaded the content on a different computer and I need to find it to migrate it to my gaming computer.

Please be exact as I am 58 and not as smart as most of yall.

Thanks in advance !!!
