I use no DVD cracks all the time. I should not be forced to put in a disc when the game is in my harddrive. Especially when the game already has an anti-piracy measure via Live. There is nothing illegal about them. You bought the game and the crack doesn't hurt devs in anyway nor do they care.

They have no way of knowing. it just bypasses the disc check and it has nothing to do with Live so nope.

I used it for FO3 and GTA4 and nothings happened to me =)

I guess they would have no way of telling unless you your self told them prehaps. I seem to remember you having an issue with your product key, complaing about MS' support. Now your telling people it is basically ok to pirate since no one will be the wiser. That is the kind of behaviour that ruins it for the other people.

Think before you speak =)

DoW II does not use the disc either way. It runs off Steam. So that is irrelevant.

Second of all...where in my last two posts or anywhere did I say it was okay to pirate. Do you know what the term even means?

If you own the game. As in went out and purchased it. And you don't want to use the disc. There is nothing wrong with a no disc check.

That kind of behavior does not ruin it for other people. What in the world are you talking about. I personally don't want to swap between discs everytime I want to play a different game.

I spent $50 on said game. If I want to use a no disc check so be it. It doesn't hurt anyone.

PS: Yes M$ support does suck. It shouldn't take over a week to get a new CD-key or reactivate your new one. If EA, Ubisoft, etc can do that in one phone call and a total of 5 minutes it shouldn't take M$ 8 days.

Just curious why you have so many issues with black listed keys then?

My issues had been wiiiiiith.....

DoW II

Mass Effect (a 3 limit install with no revoke)

Bioshock (same deal)

So that's not "many issues." The reason I've had trouble with those games is because I change hardware a lot. I benchmark, test, reformat, etc thus I use up a lot of activations. Apparently publishers don't realize that their most dedicated fanbase in terms of PC gaming (the hardcore) tend to do that a lot. But anyways...limits are finally going away.

I honestly didn't have that big of a problem with install limits. Was it ridiculous? Yes. Was it a hassle? No, not really. Like I said it took a 5 minute phone call until I had to deal with M$ and the non-existant GFW support.

If you do believe I pirate games just go check my Steam account. $FooFoo$ Jam. 70 or so games that I purchased. Also have around 60 boxed games spanning from the 90's till now.

My biggest problem are the disc checks. I like to play a variety of games so I swap discs a lot. No disc check helps in this regard. It's not that big of a problem now since I've mostly moved away from retail and purchase either from Steam or D2D but still.

That sorta worries me as I will be instaling it for the third time soon

Just installed for the third time no problems yet well except for the not having enough time to actually play through the game.

I am not saying that you are a pirate. I am just saying we should not lead people down that path.

Oh sorry Bioshock has 5 limits I believe but now has a revoke tool. Same with Mass Effect now. You can revoke the activations. At the time it had none.

I am not encouraging piracy in any way, shape, or form. It gets on my nerves when people say they pirate. I only game on my PC and am tired of the "Oh we are not making anymore PC exclusives because of piracy" devs like to use. I think that phrase is overblown to be honest. Crysis 2 is going multiplat because Crysis didn't sell well according to Cervat.

I find that difficult to believe. 2 million copies sold announced over a year ago. That is not enough? Not to mention Crytek only had two games to sustain them. Crysis and Warhead. If those two games did not sell well they would be filing for bankrupcy just like many, many devs. However, while console studios were shutting down and laying people off left and right Crytek was hiring, opening new studios, and bought out a bankrupt one all with the money we gave them by buying Crysis.

Even though the term is overblown piracy is still a problem because we are losing exclusives left and right. In a way you might say it has helped us though in some cases as in Spore. Ever since then EA has stopped putting in activation limits on games. But that didn't justify piracy people should have just voted with their wallets instead of that and pirating it.

Before we used to get good, well made PC games. Now all we get are consolized crap and awful, awful ports. Some of the ports out just make me want to take the game and shove it down all the developers throats for releasing something so piss poor and obviously broken.

Anyways I went on a bit of a rant sorry. So no I am not encouraging piracy. No CD cracks are not illegal and devs couldn't care less as long as you buy the game. He/she just lost the disc. Why go out and spend more money on the same game. Just get a no cd crack, devs already have his/her money.
