Yes it will.  The reason why Vista requires more RAM is because Vista alone takes up about 1 GB of your RAM.

Vista uses more memory, you'll find a lot of games with the same spec. Im not even sure its possible to have 1.7gb of ram.

Run belarc adviser and tell us what you have and how much memory you have in each slot

I thought the OS would reserve RAM according to the size of your videocard.

Vista takes 1gb of ram IDLE. When gaming the priorities switch to that game and thus less ram used by Vista and more for the game.

 

RAM isn't really a big thing in games these days anyway, except gta4.

Thats true, OP you can run your computer a ok.  My old computer can run it and it only has 1 GB of RAM.

Whats the rest of your system spec? Why have you got an odd number of R.A.M? I no im drifting off topic here but these are questions that need answering lol

Id be more worried about your GPU running it than the amount of ram you have

Vista uses a lot of ram, so the games need that much more.
