Well I hope you were able to work out everything. Leave c:\ for the programs you use most and other partitions for everything else including seldom used programs and all other content. IE backups, downloads, pics, music etc.
im having a similar problem to the original question ive downloaded broken steel ive updated fo3 its in c drive ive got windows for games open and sighned in but i dont know how to sign in in game i go to live and and theres nothing there its just blank no options to select nothing and as the guide said this is a crutial part of getting this dlc to work and im not a computer wizz but not a dumbass so try to use easy to under stand simple istructions thanks

yes i see the live option but theres nothing when i open it u just see the background change like it usualy does and i pressed the home key but nothing happens and downloads is blanked out as well but when ever i finish the game ( got a save point right before u finish) and when it goes back to the menu screen downloads isnt blocked but it has (view available downlods) and when i click on it nothing happens and i have a vista in case that might help
and i didnt get the patch from live i went to the besheda soft work website an downloaded it
but when i went there it asked which country u were from so does that count as being in the right region and how do i get a prompt from live to patch it havent so far
You applied the incorrect patch to the game you will need to reinstall the game and only get the patches offered by the LIVE service.
You must reinstall the game once you have done that hit the home key to access LIVE - Once you are signed in you will be prompted to download the update.
okay i got the live thing to work but now im having problems with sighning in i hit home go sighn in with a live account it asks for my username and password i put it in then it comes up dowloading profile and so i wait nothing happens then it says disonnected from live up the top flashing then it comes up with the update saying do you want update this game say no and it says you will be sighned out and if u go yes it comes up with a loading bar it loads really quickly to the end butthen it stops and doesnt do anythin or i get it in the background saying you havent sighned in with a live a account and u must select a storage device and until then auto save is disabled and if i try to sighn in again it said profile down load wasnt complete or something similar
Once the update has started you must wait for it to complete.
but it doesnt finish downloading my profile so it wont fully complete the patch download which is pretty sure is happening cause it comes up in the back ground on fallout 3 message format like as if u get in the games saying u have dissconected from live and u cant get something about downloads and some other stuff while its down loading my profile and sometimes it says it up the top flashing dissconected from live and when i try to log back in i go profiles but its blank i can click on it but there no picture or name and when i click on it it says profile not fully downloaded deleat and redownload and ive done that quite a few times it just does the same thing over and over a again
Please post your event logs. It is likely something is blocking the connection.
what are event logs and how do i post them
You will need to run you event viewer to find out the actuall error Start > Run > type EVENTVWR > press OK Look under Windows Logs + Applications Look for xlive.dll post the details from that error or warning
