And the best news is that it is continuing Guild Wars 1's idea of no pay to play. Simply buy the game and thats the last you will be paying!

Wait, is guild wars better for solo play?

The WoW instances don't look like it's for solo players anymore =='

Yeah saw this yesterday morning thanks to the wife (she and I love this MMO series)..

I hear that APB will also adopt Guild Wars pay model... Its about time someone saw the success in the model.. I mean no MMO out there will ever be as popular as WOW, so a montly subscription is usually not the best way to go. Guild Wars is a successful game just because its a buy once model.. Not to mention the graphical craftmanship of the game. Its not cartoony like WOW or has weird scarecrow-like avatars like the Free to Play MMOs.

Guild Wars 1 was all about getting into groups to do the main storyline and accomplishing things as a team. Then after you beat the game you experience the same feel in the PvP because it is big on teams as well.

Guild Wars 2 is supposed to have a more adjustable feel. By this I mean if you aren't feeling cooperative one day you can add henchmen that will adjust their skill level depending on how many people are in your group and how difficult what you are trying to do is.

Example: So if you were trying to simply explore the grassy fields you saw the henchmen most likely would be easy. But if you were trying to kill a boss or a dragon, the henchmen would be significantly stronger.

I do recommend getting groups though because its just so much fun (whether its a serious group or a goofy group)

I don't know, but the only reason that I prefer to go solo is because I am afraid that I'll screw up in more ways than one and become a liability to the group.

Also, I don't game 24/7. So, if it's a fixed group, peeps will probably be wondering where the heck am I.

I would recommend just buying the Guild Wars Trilogy

It is $49.99 at GameStop and includes an exclusive Golem Minipet (minipets are creatures in the game that follow you around and do nothing. Mostly for show)

It includes Guild Wars, Guild Wars Factions, and Guild Wars Nightfall.

If you are sold on the game after that then go buy Guild Wars Eye of the North expansion.

Btw any Guild Wars questions ask me or anyone else who knows/plays the game!

Yeah that can happen sometimes. The point of the game is to join a guild and interact with other players in the guild (e.g. do quests, missions, farm, PvP, GvG, HvH, HA, ect...)

If you are more of a laid back person who wants to just casually get on and game every once in a while then I wouldn't say don't get this game. It doesn't have that addictive feel like WoW does since it isn't pay to play so you can get on whenever you feel like it.

But as for groups, chances are you won't run into a group full of jerks who expect 150% out of everyone in the group Big Smile you will only find those groups in some PvP modes and also in the Elite Missions. But by that time you will be good enough to play with them so no worries PoliteMalaysian.

(Btw you really are polite haha)
