exceeded the usage of the product key in GTA IV - GFWL team whats been done?

Any news on a fix for thos players out there that have GTA IV and are reciving The problem..... exceeded the usage of the product key in GTA IV?

 

i have not been able to play for months now on live......i dont mean to be dissrespectfulll but,the games for windows live team what exactly are you guys doing to fix this problem?

 

ive contaced support alot of times and got nowhere....im actualy considering taking it further if this problem is not resolved,i payed good money for this game and this is what i get?

 

Its not like its only a few people who are getting this problem too...theres litraly loads of posts on this problem on google.

 

all have not had any help from gfwl.

Usually you would only get that message if you bought it used....and why should the industry support that? They don't make money off used game sales. If you bought it new, that is a different issue, but I haven't seen any noise about the key for GTA not working for others.

I did not buy it used...i purcahsed it brand new and sealed.....i actualy had it on pre-order when they were made available.

theres alot of people with the same issue and no one can get any help.

from what i know....they put a 10 limit activation on our product keys....and because i do alot of system upgrades....operating system trials i have to re-install windows and re-install gta iv fresh and of course thats using activations up.

 

I just think its realy bad.....no support shown by GFWL as yet.....like i said i have thought about taking this further.

Hi, I have the same problem, I contacted with Rockstar´s support and it seems like they can solve the issue, but I contacted with Rockstar the first of September and I received the answer yesterday so I will not play online another month..................... I am very dissapointed.

From your description, that wouldn't be a GFWL issue at all. That needs to be addressed by the publisher who issues and regulates the keys. Have you contacted them about it?

 

Going forward, you might also think about not using your gaming rig to test new operating systems. I am sure Rockstar is not the only publisher who is going to look askance at your story.

Actually you are incorrect. The LIVE keys are issued by MS. You will have to contact xbox support & ask to be transfered to a GFWL technician. They will need to verify that the product is genuine. After that, they will issue a new product key. This is why contacting rockstar gets you no where.

If you researched this like you said. From within this forum you would of found many posts regarding this issue & how they have resolved it.

Call the GFWL # directly.  There is a process for the Live keys but it is done on a case by case basis and in saying this, it does not mean you are automatically eligible for a new key.  Contact them and they will go through the process to get you a key if it is justified.

The problem is when the people are not from U.S.A., Canada or U.K., I am from Spain and the phone of GFWL support does not exist, so tell me, what can I do? I only can contact with Microsoft by e-mail, and they do not solve anything. So here I am, waiting the answer of Rockstar............................

Thank you, but I have phoned to this telephone number with 3 differents mobile phones and that phone is inoperative or doesn´t exist, so I can only contact them by e-mail.

There is no email contact for Billing support for Games for Windows - LIVE.  Have you done as has been suggested of calling and asking to speak to a Games for Windows - LIVE support agent?

all i get is passed onto diffrent departments,who are no help whatsoever as they dont know who i need to talk to....then they say i need to contact rockstar! then someone mentioned contacting msn....which ialso done and they said its down to microsoft!!!!

 

 

Its just one big nightmare my friend.....im realy unhappy with how this has been dealt with! we pay good money for a game and this is what we get?

GFWLMOD...please can you make someone at the GFWL dept look into this issue,theres so many unhappy people.

 

I wont ever buy another GFWL game if this doesnt ever get looked at...and ithink i speak for alot of people.

I agree with you Nevakonaza. If this is Microsoft´s support I will never buy a Games for Windows game.

Below I have provided Phone numbers to Contact Xbox LIVE support in UK and Spain. When calling them you will need to inform them that you need to have you issue escalated to a Games for Windows LIVE Agent. To will need to provide them with your Gamertag, Name, Phone Number and Email, as well as brief description of your issue. Make sure that the agent provides you with an SR number. Then hopefully a GFWL Rep will contact you back. I hope this helps you. Please let us know if these numbers did not help.
