Best advise I can give is to go to the website of your MB manufacturer. They should have a guide on how to do it in the tech support FAQ's (its usually linked to on the BIOS download page). It can vary quite a bit & if its goes wrong can kill your MB.

The one peice of advise I will give is do not under any circumstances update your BIOS from within windows. Thats just asking for trouble

yea that what am afraid of killing my motherboard, i went to the site and they talk about using a floppy disk but i don't have one, someone told me i can use the usb drive but it must be link to the motherboard how do i know if i can use the usb or do i have to buy a floppy drive to do it

you canusually use a USB flashdrive with newer MB, but if its not saying anything about that on the website then it either won't work or could go pear shaped if you try it.

if all it is saying is floppy drive, then floppy drive is the way to go I'm affraid.

BIOS updates are the one bit of PC upgrades & software I'll never take a risk in.

if i update my bios this is what i will be getting

1.update logo to 640x480
2.update raid rom
3.update smart fan rule
4.update CPU code (agesa 3.5.2.1) to improve memory compatibility

support new cpu:AM3 AMD Athlon II 435/425 ,AM3 AMD Sempron 140
-improve ejiffy installation

is the things worth anything and i still not sure if it will solve my problem in bein able to run windows 7

Do you meet the requirements? http://windows.microsoft.com/systemrequirements

If you are using 2 sticks of ram, try just putting one inside. Just run the basics, like one hdd, one dvd drive, one stick of ram. See if you can resolve the issue by running bare minimum.

In order to update the Bios at inital CMOS boot. Why not burn the Bios update to a cd and change your bios to boot from cd, and load the bios update from cd. And myself personally my laptop can only be updated from within winodws.
