I can't play multiplayer in GTA IV. I have a LIVE account.

Hi, I have a GFWL account in GTA IV but since the 1.0.0.4 patch in this game I can't play multiplayer. When I try to connect by the phone it says:Connection to GFWL lost - returning to single player mode. or something like that. My game is in spanish. I have some photos. I only want to play multiplayer but i can't. Plz help me :( .

It appears you are trying to connect from Chile, which is not a supported LIVE country.  So we will be unable to really help you there.  Though since I am typing here I would like to suggest

I am kinda impressed you are able to play on dial up, but that likely could be another reason why you are unable to connect.

This is a bit strange because before this patch I could play multiplayer. I have friends in LIVE too.

The same thing happens to me. I live in the U.S and this started right after I installed patch 1.0.0.4. Any ideas why?

Hey, I live in The Netherlands and have the same problem, i Can't connect on multiplayer?????? Before patch 1.0.0.4   I can Play multiplayer.
I hope some of you know how to solve the problem??????Tongue Tied

Hey. I live in the uk and am having the same problem.

I mailed rockstar games about it, but they don't seem to care...their customer service is increadibly poor.

has anyone heard anymore about this yet....the patch says "multiplayer fixes" huh...??? yeah right

a VERY bad patch...I don't think it's anything to do with LIVE...It's Rockstar Games everyone should complain to...the more complaints they get, the quicker they'll do something about it....perhaps, you never know.

Are your games modified in any way? Did you replace even one file? That might be it.

I have no problems whatsoever with the latest patch, except that the game still runs like sh*t.

No it's 100% Retail and the only stuff thats been added is the patches that LIVE have uploaded to it and some music for the radio station.. but i tried removing it and it made no difference.

Unfortunatly they won't help you......although the patch was downloaded via LIVE, they have no interest in helping there customers.....GFWL's ignorance towards there customers is almost parallel to that of Rockstar Games......It's sad but, they blame each other....however mainly, It's Rockstar's error....GFWL should have cleared the patch for use, but Rockstar should never have released this un-tested atrocity they call update 5.

I am literaly 1 day away from giving up and taking my game back to the shop for a full refund....like i'v said previously...the only way to get any attention is to officially complain to Rockstar Games.

Although my sigle effort seems to have got me nowhere.....If you are having the same problems, then I urge you to please let it be known... To Rockstar, not GFWL...although they are both at fault, Rockstar are the only ones with the power to do anything about it.....And if by a stroke of luck, someone at GFWL are actually reading this, and I'm wrong...then please prove it.

I don't know where you come up with a statement like this.  People in the forums are very helpful and will help if you ask.

Just because you may not get the support you need, does not mean you are being ignored or otherwise dealt with in a negative matter.

Try browsing the forums and look for threads where there have been people with the same issues and see how they were resolved.  Also check out the trouble shooting guide as there may be useful info there.
