Welcome to the forums, are you connecting from a University? A little more info on this would help a lot in finding a root cause. I would like to thank you though for providing the walk through of what your issue is, it helps immensely when trying to assist you!
Hello DaMuncha,
What is the exact error message you are receiving? Are there any error codes being generated in the event logs?
DaMuncha: Mouse Surface: Mouse Pad Computer Case: Black
Well played sir. I understand you are frustrated but I appreciate the sense of humor. As you said there have been a lot of threads similar to this, but most relate to the AMD processor patch needing to be installed. If you could provide any errors as my compatriot requested, it would be much appreciated.
Check your event logs, as suggested, to see if any error codes are being generated.
What (if any) antivirus/firewall programs are you running?
Have you checked firewall ports?
Try running that internet connectivity evaluation tool (google search it) and post anything Not Run or Not Supported.
Also, try to be patient. If your troubleshooting requests turn into rants, people will be less likely to help. I know troubleshooting LIVE can make a person want to rip their hair out sometimes, but if you want your issue resolved, its best to try to be patient and calm.
If you just want to rant, I'm sure others can join in, but if you want your issue resolved, try to keep to the main topic of your thread.
Good luck, and post the results when you get a chance.
DaMuncha:I run norton internet security 2010 but that wont be the problem
That can be the problem or it could be your dsl modem NAT.
Do you have Xfire or Hamachi running in background? Also do you have any associated errors when you lose connection?
